Hash Making Technique

In your video regarding making hash you show the leaves being grounded up. Most of my leaves that I save from trimming I put in a brown paper bag and put in the freezer until I'm ready to extract the trichomes from them. Should I be grinding them up prior to mixing them up with the dry ice? I would think that would destroy some of the trichomes. Your response is greatly appreciated!

ColaDog, The first time that I made dry ice hash, I ground the trim TOO fine (in a small food processor) and caused more of the plant matter to pass thru the screens. The last time I made it, I only crumbled up the trim with my fingers and got 'cleaner' hash. A pepper mill might work for grinding, but I have not tried that yet. You do need to dry the trim thoroughly before extracting the hash.
Have fun and keep on truckin'

I've had the same issue. Just don't grind it up to dust. If its trim use it as it is. When using bud just separate small chunks with your fingers or use a pair of scissors to cut the nugs so they break apart

Yes, the leaves are dry before I place them in the freezer. I believe I like the idea of crumbling the leaves with my fingers. Thanks much DW2!
