Harvest - Trichomes not ready but big time fade.

Well, she's fading super fast. and regarding stressing, I did use a UVB light 3 days for 2.5 hrs each day, which i now find is a big stressor in it's supposed enhancing of potency (as well as killing WPM. it could have set her off. I am still gonna wait more, asuming hopefully that the quality of what's there wont be compromised anyway. see photo also of the other tent with babies of same age - which have been getting the UVB every day for a week and they look great at 74 days- so it seems to be an okay thing for them ( 2 are already flushing - maybe a bit too early. I typically dont flush based on previous trial where I couldnt tell the difference but thought Id give it a go anyway - Hmmmm , reasoning not sound:p.

This is my first auto grow. Lights are 18/6 and I have three photos vegging and 5 clones well rooted in aeroponic bucket all in the same room. 40% to about 50%RH. Temps solid at 24⁰C Day and 21.5⁰C night.

And i am leaving the light on 11.5 hrs for last week, and wa 12 12 before that. Humidity stays pretty good this time of year with the tent in my basement around 45 to 55%. Heater is off, so at night they drop down to 63 to 65 F , and in daytime are typically around 74. i seldom have to change the fan setting.

Now at exactly 11 weeks since 12 12 , she is fading even more, and there is not a lot of green left at all. In the photo of 2, she is the right one. Noting that she is a red strain and most of the leaves were getting red anyways. However, she still has some white pistils so looks like it is still advancing, and maybe my imagination, but the bids look a little fuller. Only a couple of amber trichomes in view, but to me, most look pretty cloudy. I think i could harvest now, but I am still gonna wait. Congolese satia shows 70 to 80 days for maturing. oh yeah - correction re the Flora Flex nutrient Full Tilt they are getting just before flush - it is a 0-47-35 late bloom ripener. I was hoping the 6 girls would finish at different times so I could space out the trimming effort, but that may not work out. They all look at similar states. Maybe a couple or few will get a dry trim instead. Can't wait for the finger/scissor hash! It is quite pretty in the 4 by 4 tent as someone said "fall colours" so i had to show it off! Opinions always welcome. Cheers all.

Looks great but I still see a lot of clear trichomes on the Calyx dont i?'
FYI, I dont count flower until I see some pistils pop out and that is usually 2 weeks after 12/12 but I have had Sativa's go 3 weeks before they show signs of flower

Hey - Thanks. i was looking for opinions - it is certainly not clear to me (pun intended). I agree that there are some still clear, but I think not many. Regarding the timing, I realize lots of breeders and people count flowering from when pistils show. thats why I always clarify 12 12 - which is a black n white number.

My sativas are about 3 weeks from flip for flower pistols also. Harvesting them prior to amber seems to have positive benefits re effects especially if you are susceptible to anxiety. Many people get anxiety when they smoke but an early harvest on my sativas seems not to bring that on.

OMG i'm in love with your tent. I haven't seen such beauty since last falls outdoor harvests. I think you have done the right thing by letting it go longer and now it's just getting ready to quit drinking. Those trichomes shots i wish i could take sometimes sure helps with my crappy eyesite anymore. My old gals leaf nearly fell off during trimming it was pretty easy as i removed some daily before harvest. I just did a light wet trim on my 3 as they had'nt drank much the last 5 days and i was thinking they'd dry sooner? Congrats

Being sativas you will get ambers on a few trichomes long before your flowers have fully developed. I get ambers on my sugars from about week 5 or 6 but the flower has a long way to go.

Watch closely how your flowers develop over time. Your flowers will be packed full of unopened calyx. If you can keep your plant healthy they will open and the pistols that burst out will brown and curl in making for dense buds packed with goodness.

I get the doomies off most sativas. That's why I get so excited when I find ones that don't do that. Either way I always try to get some amber on there. I prefer downers more than anything. Shit I don't even drink coffee because my heart feels like it's going to bust out of my chest.

Something's glitchy on this website I posted the comment under here but for some reason it commented under a different comment on the last page 🤔🤔

Same here, I harvested some Sterling Silver Haze when it was 50/50 cleat and cloudy and I couldnt smoke it because it makes bounce off the walls like the Black Beauty's did back in the day.

I too prefer the up type of buzz. I am kinda hyper to start, and like it! heavy sativas are my fav except for bedtime or post workout.

Some of the leaves are drying out, and in my opinion (thanks others) most trichomes are cloudy with a few amber definitely showing. This one and another were put into darkness for a couple of days since last night. The buds are nice n hard and look good so I am very optimistic of a great result. I stressed them with the UVB light, and turned heater off at 4 weeks flowering so every nnight they were at 62 to 65 F and then 72 to 74 F in the day. But the Black Death also in dark just looks perfect to me. supposed to be a possible plus 30%
