oldjarhead100 Hey big guy,, I’m back on board after hibernating a spell. Starting over from scratch. I posted some of the story. Athough I worked hard all last spring and summer in my Community Garden the city put up too many road blocks and the permaculture work got trashed over the winter. Tough breaks indoors and outdoors.

Hey I thought you were east coast. To tell you the truth I could really use the comraderie but don’t see myself making the trip west any time soon.

I've suffered too many painful insect bites, and too many frozen asses to engage in anymore camping activities. I might consider a nice hotel. I don't believe there will be enough members capable of making the long trip. Must be about 2000 miles for you isn't it oldjarhead100 ?
 
I luv camping, I remember a camp site in CO. the kids were little, and asleep, chipmunks were playing in the camp site,,, Its only 12 hour drive to Colorado springs from here.
For mew it;s not the distance but the things I cant get away from,,,
Some of the biggest mosquitoes I ever seen were on CO.! LOL
 
"When I was young" https://youtu.be/ur30bn_3G58 I was enchanted by camping. Engaged in it most seasonable times of the year, and even a little winter camping. But the last excursion was so unpleasant the wife decided never again. So I sort of go along with that.
 
I have only been to Denver and grand junction before. The obvious choice there would be Denver, but I am not too familiar with the area.
Now if you ask about SF Bay Area locations... I got a few in my mind.
 
Doesn't seem like I ever have time when there is no snow on the ground. Have to buck up what's left of last years log truck load to make room for this years! The cycle of life.
(note that pile of ash by the wheel barrow, 7 cord reduced to that!)
Edit: time to move it again! Waiting on the next load of logs.

We do that also GreenState go through about 5 cords a winter here. Don't need to fall any trees do to mother nature this past winter snowmeggedon threw down enough for 2 winters at least. My hubby's been doin that for weeks now. Thank goodness for our 50ton homemade hydraulic woodsplitter . It's a long process never ending seems like. Thinking about putting in a heat pump to help out. Our backs are getting worn out.
 
A Guy in the next town has a cord wood business ,he has a truck that he dumps a load of logs on, then it will cut and split the entire truck load of logs into one great big pile , now I am waiting until it can stack the wood to lol seriously I dont burn wood, wish I could there is something nice about a wood fire heat
 
Like they say, firewood heats you multiple times, cutting it, splitting it, stacking it, carrying it in...........and carrying out the damn ashes!(lol).
Decided to see if I could germinate the seed I found in my GG-4...success., didn't think it was mature enough, pretty green.
So out in the woods it will go, left to fend for itself (g).
