SOIL Growing too fast?

Keith

New member
Hi I’m new here. I’ve been growing for about a year. I grow in soil, use cutting edge nutrients, and a 600 watt light on 18/6. My plants are growing fast and look great but the stem is normal for the first few inches then doubles in width and grows hollow like bamboo. There is no pith inside. It only happens when I grow from seed. If I grow clones they grow woody throughout. These girls are about three weeks and are already showing the problem

I’m new also but it’s normal.if u would have planted the seedling deeper in the soil it wouldn’t be as noticeable. I think it’s just stretch.
Clones of course don’t do that.

First thing i see is You need to transplant your plants what bigger pots.
what kind/watt of light and how far from the plants do you have it

Was waiting for day off today to transplant them. Right now they are about 18” below a 6 bulb fluorescent grow light. After transplant they’ll be in a bigger room under a 600 watt metal halide light which in the past has also continued to grow hollow

I use the cutting edge nutrients. They were recommended to me but I have no idea what is actually in there. I also use mammoth p to pr
