Hey all so I am doing a test grow since I am going between advanced nutrients iguana organic line (I'm adding hydroguard and rizoblast) and general hydroponics trio with liquid karma and later sweet. I will post my feeding schedule a little later. And sorry I don't have earlier pictures I had an emergency to work with but the plants were off to a slow start. I put the seeds in paper towels on 3/1 I had the first sprout on 3/4 and I placed them in the hydro buckets on 3/5. They had a slight cal mag deficiency at the start I found out that these ladies go to full strength of cal mag right away then they started doing very well! They grew 2 nodes up until last week 3/21 and this last week they have grown like weeds . I will post pictures in my next two posts. And I want to see it you all think one is doing better then the other. The seeds are from seeds and they are candy kush Express feminized.
These are from about 30 minutes ago they were also topped just now I debated on taking another mode off but I figured I would start here and go for a main line.
Now one of the buckets always gets super foamy for the first day or two after a water change and the other only lasts a few hours any thoughts? And the root difference I think is impressive.
I've got a (first time grow) couple of autos in a small space 1.5x1.5x3.5 that look pretty similar to yours so that makes me feel pretty good. I'm using the GH FloraDuo system with CaliMag and HyrdoGuard. Based on comments around here, will probably switch to GH FloraShield on my next change. Difference is I didn't top mine considering that they had undergone some environmental stresses (i.e. me!) due to numerous adjustments I've been making to get everything on the right track; and considering they're autos. I just pulled them over a bit to expose some of the lower nodes.
Question: Is the foam a good thing? I noticed it in mine a day or so after my last water change and didn't know what to make of it...?
4/13 the organic plant is not doing well, ph has given me a lot of issues with the organic line. I have tried adjusting the feeding over the last few weeks and I have not seen any improvement at all. And the organic plugged up my pump and lines for the top feed (I stopped the top feed as both plants root systems should now be good without) I have decided to end my test and move the organic over to general hydro/botanicare notes. My next post will be 2 days after 4/15 just to show the improvement so far.
4/15 2 days after removing the organic nute. There is already significant improvement new growth has started again and the leaves are finally turning a nice darker green. I was very disappointed with the organic results this far. My GH plant is ready to flip to 12/12 but the other has a few weeks now before its ready.... I'm hoping I can use LST to train the plant and keep topping and trimming it so she doesn't over grow my space as my last grow got a little to talk and I lost a few of the top bits to light burn.
I apologize for the incomplete grow journal but life got a bit hectic. To recap I started in a 1.5x3 tent with 2 plants one of them ended up dying due to me not realizing the water was low because my water level indicator was plugged but in the end it worked out I upgraded to a 3x3x7 tent and my 1 plant is now taking up most of not all of the space, this is the plant that started on advanced nutrients but I switched over to botanicare qnd GH. Once this grow is done hopefully in a week or two I will post my feeding chart but this plant the buds are massive and fat I had to tie my coalas out since they were falling to the middle of the plant.. I am thinking I might see about 4 oz out of this plant but I'm curious to find out. Chopping this down will feel like chopping a tree down the stalk is massive about a 2.5 inch diameter.
649.54 grams trimmed and wet im assuming about a 40% weight loss while drying (my last grow lost 35%) so i think my final harvest weight from 1 plant will be about 13.9 oz
