Grape ape grow tips needed please

hey hey, how's everyone today?
First time posting. I am basically looking for any info on growing grape ape but would LOVE to know what kind of flowering cycle I should expect, info i found is anywhere between 6 weeks(unlikely) to 10 weeks(bummer)! also what kind of stretching these ladies go thru once in 12/12. I'm growing them under 1200 watts LED in soil/coco mix, they'll end up under a 8x5 scrog in a month when done with veg. Anyways, let me know what you know please, the web is an arid desert of info on growing this strain. Thanks in advance!

Hi Karlee, thanks!
yeah i tried leafly but came back fairly confused and/or empty handed. They show a 56 day cycle for flowering but every other thread i came across talks about to 70 days or slightly more...confusing.... found a couple grow journals but they're all unfinished because of death of male seeds....That's ok the line is cast on this awesome website, I'll catch something! ;)

I have never personally grown Grape Ape. But like most Indica dominate strains. A 8-9 week flowering period is pretty normal.

That's my problem with leafly, it's too much of an early version of wikipedia, too much user input and not enough fact checking, this 56 days is suspicious. gonna go with the 8-9 weeks idea until i hear otherwise. In your experience kingfish, how much stretching with those indicas you grew? I'm afraid I'll veg them too long and my scrog will be too small!

thanks for the link, indeed extensive amount of info. but more of the 60 days cycle....guess i'm just gonna have wait and see...

I tie mine down pretty early on. So they don't stretch too much. I also have pretty heavy duty lights. That eliminates stretch unless you want it. I'm currently smoking Purple Kush and they where about 3 feet tall when I harvest them.

In my experience, you can take whatever timeline the breeder says to expect for the flowering stage, and add 2-3 weeks when growing indoors. Breeders tend to count from when flowers first appear, not after the switch to 12/12.

And honestly, many breeders exaggerate a little about flowering times because it makes strains sell better. If you actually contact them and ask, many breeders will tell you to wait a few extra weeks to harvest to get the best results :)

Thanks nebulahaze, found the seeds in dime bags right before prohibition ended here so no grower info. Oh well, after this grow we'll know more.

LEDs are neat and 1200 watts sounds like a powerful one! 💡 You should post pictures of your lights and your plants!!! 🌱 ✨
