Golden Strawberry clone Crockett farm genetics

your telling me there is so much growth technically it’s 60/40 Indica dominant so that explains why it filled up good and does the bottom buds really steal that much from the top colas or is it just that fact it doesn’t get much light?

And how far down should I start to strip and would cutting the huge fan leaves affect it or would that be ideal to take the huge leaves off? I’ve read the defol tutorial many times but it still leaves me with lots of questions

I'm by no means an expert in defol but it will get more leaves well into 3rd week of flower. You can sneak a peak on my journal if you would like to see my process. And yes lower colas can steal energy that's why some people lollipop. When you take leaves off of the bottom it will promote growth to the top of the plant in its efforts to releaf. There's debate on the process of defoliating and I'm on the fence with defoliating in general. But I do prune to maintain structure and promote top growth whenever possible allowing light to penetrate to the lower canopy and creating good air flow.

So as of today I’m on day 18 of flowering so coming up towards the end of week 3 I did a major defoliation last night and I’ll have pics up later. Just didn’t have time to snap a few before lights went out.

Literally almost 2hrs of straight defoliation so much bush was there and now all the bud sites get direct light and I only took off a few bottom branches

I’m sorry for the delay so how I’ve been doing the pics is in 4K 60f video on my iPhone 8 then screenshot the videos for pics so you guys can get the best quality of pics, most phones take better videos then pics and can change the video quality under the phone settings, I would upload the videos but no matter the size the site won’t upload them

Also some of the hairs started this strawberry red color doesn’t show much on the video or camera but in person it pops

I think you did a good job for not practicing defoliating. It's going to get leafy again so don't worry. I like how you left the little lower buds I hate taking off potential smoke.

I'd say you took a lot, but they should be fine. Looks very much like my last run after their day 21 defol. Those plants did great!

Ya I left some of the lower ones that look like they are producing and keeping up with the rest of the plant and actually have a pretty built stem so I think I only cut about 6 of the nutrient stealers and took off everything that was over grown leaves and even the medium sized fan leaves to really open the light up and the plant looks super happy after the haircut

As promised some bud porn for everyone took the video the other day and it’s a lot more resiny already though
