SOIL Gnarly New Growth

Can anyone tell me why my new growth leaves on my Fem White Widow plants are curly and gnarly looking? Plants are in soil with super soil on bottom of container.

I would check the GWE site for plant problems. There is a heading just for any issue for cannabis. If it were me "guessing" i would say it is re-veging. Its light schedule has went backwards so it is trying to follow or the cat peed on it. LOL

I've heard of Curly Top Virus but have never seen it. I think I may have now. That's nasty

Beet Curly Top Virus (BCTV) is a highly contagious disease that can severely impact crop populations. Beet Curly Top Virus nearly destroyed Idaho's sugar beet population before farmers bred immune cultivars in 1935. First discovered in 1907, the virus affects more than 300 different plant species, including Cannabis.​

May I suggest sending these images to NebulaHaze and or SiriusFourside so they can be added to the plant problems page.
Note it is highly contagious

Once you observe definite symptoms, it is best to pull out the plant and destroy it. CTV cannot overwinter in the soil; it must remain in a living plant. Plants cannot be infected by planting them in soil where infected plants grew last year or by use of compost from infected plants.​

If this is an inside grow, put the soil in the freezer for a few days.

I had a plant last year that was all twisted up, when nothing worked to cure it, I pulled it and burned it to make ash. I thought until now it was some genetic defect.

Leaves twisting like that can mean a few things. Light stress, root rot, wind burn, bugs.

Those leaves are pretty dark green. Could be Nitro tox.

Nebula and I checked out the pics, but neither of us is 100% sure, though BCTV seems like the best guess. We made this page with pictures from plants known to be infected with BCTV: https://www.growweedeasy.com/cannabi...urly-top-virus.

Although the damage looks similar to "typical" BCTV pics you can find on google, the twisting in the plants above is far more extreme than anything else we could find online.​

To me this is more likely toxity from the soil being too hot for the seedling. It's indoor plant so BCTV seems more of a hemp leaf hopper outdoor issue.

Possibly russet mites. Had a few plants outdoors do this a few years ago. Determined I spread it to the other plants because they were all in close proximity to each other ( stealth farming) they all ended up dying.

I had this on my very last grow. I was reusing coco/soil. I flushed it after its previous grow to 800ppm runoff. Not enough. All the plants snaggled. Ran more PHed water through. They sorted themselves out in a week. Then 1/2 nutes for a few weeks.
