Wanna introduce myself,,,I'm dirty kirty,,,my friends call me dirty,,,in regard to pics and questions,,,I agree,,,I am just beginning my first grow in ten years,,,I'd like to be able reach out and see if anyone has done a similar grow,,or just get me up to speed on certain things,,,Ive read the whole website over the course of the last year and loved every bit of it,,,Im using a 600w adjustable w/vented hood,,,6" can fan max,,,5×5×7,,,2 totes modified 5 gal cap,,,4 site,,,1075 air pump and 4 air sretones,,,with a 1.5 lpm water pump,,,I have 4 super skunk autos I am going to put in germination within the next couple days and although I have read a Monta in of information it's always better to hear it from some that has been there,,,oh almost forgot,,,I never done autos befo

Welcome to the forum, dirty!!! You are among friends!! imo, you did the absolute right thing in reading GWE from cover to cover (I did, too), but then we get into the fine-tuning and all the variables in our discussions over here. Can't wait to see your grow journal!!!

Thanks for the warm welcome alltat,,,I am germinating soon,,,starting in rockwool cubes in plain ph'd water and intend to feed them only ph'd water for the first week,,,now,,,here we go,,,I believe on the website they recommendedicated using nuts at half strength,,,I am using GH flora trio,,,my question is two part,,,each bottle is marked as in the beginning use 1/4,,,so I will begin with one half of that making 1/8 ,,,now do I use that same measurement out each bottle at once and do I maintain that throughout the plants life,,,I think I made that a 3 part question,,,anyway,,,trying understand the difference tyes of juice and when to administer,,,can I assume we use the flora grow in veg,,,the micro throughout and the bloom in the end,,,thanks folks

Well, Dirty, on my last grow, I underfed and they were just fine. They turned out so very nice and sticky, so I intend to lighten up on nutes from now on. However, I did increase nutes as plants grew: I followed my nutrient instructions, only I always went for a little less than they recommended. Never had a problem with my leaves, which stayed glossy green.

There's a lot of discussion all around the internet on this issue--about nute manufacturers wanting to sell more, etc., etc.-- Plus, it depends on what strain you're growing. I have just germinated some pure sativa hybrids, and I know that they will be super picky about being over-fed and will need way, way less than recommended doses.

Your seedlings shouldn't need food until the cotyledons are all dried up: that's what they feed off of at first. I don't feed until maybe week three after germination. And yes, it's better to err on the side of going light at first than ending up with nutrient burn on baby leaves.
