Happy new year! Guys, another update of my first grow, single plant.

Setup:

• Autos, germination started on 01 December.
• Coco coir + perlite
• RH is ~60-70%
• Temp is 24C / 75F on average
• Lights: 18/6, 80%
• Watering every 3rd day with ~80% of recommended amount of nutrients, pH=~6.

What do you think? Doing ok?
I was thinking about low stress training, but I have now idea how to do this, because looks like there is no much space between branches and the plant is too bushy (RH is 80% near the main stem, not easy to ventilate here).
Another topic - defoliation. There are many leafs touching coco - is it ok? Plus, defoliation might (?) help with low stress training (more space) and ventilation (less dense near stem).

​This is my first grow and I only have single plant. Maybe it's a good idea to try training/defoliation next time?

You need air flow in there. It is critical because without it you will lose all flowers to mold. It also helps build a strong plant that will hold up big buds.

I don't bother removing leaves sitting on the coco until they are no longer getting light but others here say it's good practice.

I would give your autos LST. Check out the plant traing (LST) topic and also notes on air movement I your grow space below.

I agree with Bluey. Try and get a fan to move air in the room that your plant is in. I would remove all leaves from the base of the plant up to the second nodes. I also agree that LST would be a good idea to improve your flower yield and to spread out the branches for better airflow through the plant.

Help! I have bugs! Can anyone identify these critters and/or tell me how to kill them and treat my plants? They have wings and don’t seem to find any in the soil. They mostly live in between the joints and new leaf growth. Someone told me they could be borer beetle and that they will destroy my plants and there’s no resolution 🤷🏻‍♀️

I don't know what they are. Borers usually are worms or caterpillars that are laid as eggs by moths. It is the larvae that eats the plant.

Are your plants showing any sign of damage?

You could try an insecticidal soap. Full coverage.

I can't recall the exact name but I think they're called False Chinch bugs. I agree with Bluey. Start with an insecticidal soap solution and wet down the4 entire plant top to bottom under and over the leaves. I'd even do a few hard sprays into the soil to kill whatever eggs or larvae in the top soil.

They are definitely not a type of Chinch bug as the country she is growing in doesn't have any.

How do I know this?

They are my babies she is the proud owner of.

Try shaking them off.

I would only use an insecticidal soap if they are damaging the plants. Many insects are good insects.

It could be a type of hemp flea beetle. Hemp flea beetles love sativas.There are many types of these. They eat the plant.

Best way to get rid of them is to hand pick them off and squash them.

Sticky traps work well too.

• Watering every 3rd day (or as soon as RH drops) with ~80% of recommended amount of nutrients, pH=~6.

​Questions:

• I did some defoliation, but the plant is still too bushy. Is it ok to continue defoliation? Isn't it too late?
• I'm not sure how bad/good my LTS is 😅
• Can I remove some small brunches (especially at the bottom)? I don't believe they get enough light.
• What stage is it? Is it in flower stage already?

That plant is revegging. Why did you put it in a coffee can you'll destroy it trying to remove it to give it more space. What is it? Man are you serious or just growing a houseplant? Provide some info nothing to say about " trimming a fucked up plant "

Ignore them! Next time use a cloth pot for better soil aeration. It looks like you either put bark on the top of your soil or that is the mix you have going on? Next time use a potting mix that is cannabis specific if what you used is not. What soil did you use? What type of light are you using? What type of seed? Photo period or Auto?

It definitely looks like it revegged. Did you change the light cycle? Purpose reveg or accidentally?

Really need more information. Drooping leaves could be over watered. Pot is too small. Are you letting it dry out before watering? Feeding it? What is the pH and PPMs in and out when watering? Not familiar with that soil. Does it have fertilizer in it? Should start.them off in Happy frog soil then move to Fox farm ocean forest in the big final pots. Hope this helps you out.
