I'm interested in trying out the General Organics Go Box.

Has anyone tried this one?

If so what can you tell me about the results you had?

I hope you're all having a great grow! Thanks for the input in advance.

I used to love General Hydroponics... and then suddenly one day I had an issue with their pH Down, went to the Forums to ask around and some others had issues around the same time... which got me to wanting to know what happened, what changed as the same time they stopped making pH Down in the powder form, now you can just get the liquid. So many things changing I wanted to know what was going on so I did some digging and I found this, and maybe it will matter to you or maybe it won't...

Yeah, that happened last summer, I wouldn't think they would change anything that would lose their customer base.
 
I used the Go Box as a supplement to my 'just add water' mix and it worked well. Like with any organic plant food, it takes about 10 days to see the results when you make an adjustment.
I am using the GH Trio now, and enjoy the ability to make changes immediately.
 
I use the Micro, Gro, Bloom GH trio in my Water Farm. The reason I do not use organics is the tendency for them to foster unwanted growth in the nutrient.
 
Im currently using it for the first time starting week7 of veg. The girls seem to like the stuff to me. Just dont over do it 1/4 to half of what they recommend per gallon at least until your plants are large enough to need more. I messed up and went with their schedule for my first few feedings and got a magnesium lockout on one of my sweettooths. I believe theres something about ppm like don't exceed 1600, and more nutrients equals higher ppm. Overall I'm happy with the stuff but not happy reading theyve been bought out by scotts.
 
Which feeding schedule from GH are you using? The one on the bottle or the one online? They have soil and recirculating online. The online version is about double strength of the bottle suggestion. I'm using the stronger one, going into Week 10 and all's well. Started adding CaMg+ a couple of weeks ago.
 
I had used the online one until i realized there is one on the back of the box.. behind where the lid flips down lol. They're the exact same from what i can tell. Idk maybe I didnt mix well enough and she got the only toxic dose. Anyways right now I'm using approx 10 of biogrow 7.5 calmag 7.5 bioroot. 2.5 bioweed and 2.5 biomarine. The soil I used in my 1 gallons might have been alittle too hot to go full strenght when i did it too.. idk. Theyre happy and healthy now so going with the flow want about 5 to 8 more inches of growth before i switch so thinking possibly in a week. Transplanting from 3 gal smartpots to 7gallon after I finally get my ventilation system installed this weekend sometime. Feel like i waited to long to leave the one gallon pots too. That couldve been part of the issue I had. This is my first grow in a couple yrs all new equipment. Leds soiless medium organc nutrients and Ive never used smartpots before. Will a 7 gallon suffice for a 3 foot final plant size? Or should I i go bigger for more root space to take up nutrients to make bigger buds?

Say it isn't so! I hadn't heard that and I can't &^%$#@ stand MG or Monsanto. Crap I'm going to have to find something else to use.
 
I don't have the Go Box. I bought separate bottles of Micro, Gro, Bloom and CaMg+. . On the labels of the three nutrients there is a Basic Applications Table.
I started using that when I set up the Water Farm. Then switched to the online (higher concentrations) schedule when I bumped into it. For soil, I have no idea how it compares to the Applications Table. I also use a plastic pipette for precise measuring. Quick, easy and clean.
All three girls appear very happy. I've had to adjust pH far more often than expected. O2 takes it up, GH Down takes it down. Adding .5 ml to 1 ml of Down once or twice a day to let it "range" and stay within desired limits.
My first grow was soil. I did absolutely everything wrong. No pH balance of commercial potting soil, over watering, over prune, under feed. You name it, I did it wrong. I really like the hydro with clones. Monitoring is much easier and closer to the lab work I like.
 
I have a big syringe like pipette I use and its accurate but i just use alitte less or more depending on how im gauging the overall growth.. feel out the needs.. trying to be connected with them. They like the mix Ive been feeding with now a lot but Im going to have to try to figure out the transition to bloom soon. I have to water tonight and was thinking I could up the amount of the biogrow alittle. I had a small problem with nutrient burn a couple weeks ago and thats when i started using less. It basically corrected itself and all i did was start watering with half strength. I habe another weird thing with this grow. I started out in some cheap soil mix and then when I transplanted i switched to soiless mix with promix hp. Was thinking that contributed to the nute burn some but the roots have grown and think theyve adjusted well. Going to transplant either Sunday night or during the week sometime. I've def made some mistakes but thanks to this forum and site I've been able to limit and fix what i couldnt completely avoid. I upped my calmag after reading that leds make the plant use more than traditional hid lighting. Not sure if thats accurate but seems to be working
 
So what was the final result of using the go box, were there any benefits or noticeable differences either good or bad? Worth the price? Elaborate if you don't mind

There were my first grows and I did a lot of stuff wrong. The ProMix grow with GO which is my only full grow with GO ended in crisis, but with surprisingly good bud and descent weight. 600w 13oz.
The crisis was caused by a couple of things. First, when you are using peat moss as your base, you do not water to runoff, so you don't know your root zone PH. I developed a PH problem and tried to treat it with more nutrients which does not work well. If you do water to runoff, the peat moss holds so much water that it can start to drown your roots. Secondly, with organic nutrients you make a change today and may not know if you are helping for a week because of the fact the your nutrients must be processed by microbes before your plant can fully use them and that takes time.
My solution is what I am doing this grow. Coco, and GH + CaliMag I see the beginning of a Cal Mag deficiency starting so I upped my water to 6.1, doubled the normal CalMag amount and watered last night with 5.8-5.9 runoff. I know that I have raised the PH level (which helps with calcium and magnesium uptake) and provided a luxury level of calcium and magnesium. I believe the problem is that my overall room temp was to low and I have corrected that today also. I expect to see improvement by tomorrow. No long waiting. If I was wrong I will be back here asking you guys to help me think of what to do next but it will be fast.
 
Flockshot wow such an oversight on my part. When i switched to promix hp didn't even think to see if i needed to water differently I was thinking 1.5 gallons of water for a 3 gallon smart pot was a lot lol. I go about 3 days between waterings about 2 a week might get a 3rd one in but i let them really dry up quite abit too. Oddly today is the first day I've had any drooping after watering but thinking its because had a power outage last night and Temps dropped from 75 to 50 over 8.5hrs it was out. Was thinking last night maybe i should wait to water until room heated back to normal but they were at the point i had to water and it was already really late. The temp did normalized by the time I was done watering but still... Seriously though it takes me forever to water I need figure out a better system lol
 
When I was all done, my root autopsy showed that I had under watered my promix The whole thing was a learning experience but I am smoking it, and growing again. Life is good.
