FYI: sending cash to U.K.

A lot of us are having problems placing our seed orders in the U.K. I just found out after spending 1/2 hour at the post office that you cannot send cash through registered mail to the U.K. You must declare on outside what you are shipping. So I filled out a new form and said jewelry. Guess what, you cannot send jewelry to the U.K. via registered mail. So I filled out a third form and said greeting card, value $10. I will be a nervous wreck until I see it has arrived at destination (seedsman). I will be tracking that package everyday.

I'm in the process of opening a Circle bitcoin account, but having problems there too. I guess I will be calling them.

My advice, stock up on seeds, however you can make that happen. If you are going to buy, go hog wild and get it over with in one fell swoop.
 
All I had to do was call card company and they cleared transaction....most accounts are not set up for overseas purchases...call the card companies
 
I had problems with my card at two different UK websites. I called both in UK on my cell phone. No extra phone charge on my cell for calls to UK. They took my card over the phone ezpz.
Plus I talked to some real nice folks in UK about their seed catalog.
 
You can do bank transfers to them they give the info , sounds like what Green did. I like the old way credit card did it. Tells me it's not good for anyone.

Side note mine shipped today

Didn't you hear america only has so much money we can't afford to let it leave here! LOL

So even though their online ordering site is not excepting credit / debit cards, if you call they will take the info over phone? Like Karlee said, that can be dangerous too. I've never done a bank transfer in my life. Is that easy to do?
 
Paypal does it if you have bought from ebay paypal is a good way to pay. On PP site you can do it over the internet and send money to someone with a paypal account.
 
Oh, I have a paypal account for about 4 years now. Linked directly to my bank account. I haven't found one seed bank yet that accepts paypal. I did a google search and found out that paypal will not deal with seed banks.
 
Just did another search. Says Crop King seeds accepts paypal. I am going to check it out. Even though I (hopefully) have some coming, I wouldn't mind ordering more. I really want to load up. I also have paypal credit so it won't show on my bank statement.
 
I signed up & paid for a seedsman order using credit card about 9 hours ago with no problems at all. From Australia though, maybe the UK just doesn't like credit card payment from the US anymore
 
Do you know/trust anyone in uk? Get them to purchase then post to you, I have been takin advantage of seedman black Friday deals and all orders here in under three days, can you move money between PayPal accounts? So your not handing any numbers out:)
 
Just to let you know Insomm...my very first seed order was to Seedsman (UK), and because I was a bit paranoid about this new adventure, I sent cash via registered mail (told post office it was just papers), no problem there, and after about a week Seedsman received it. 😊 Hopefully yours will get there soon enough!🌸

That's what I should have said "documents". duh.........I'll know better next time. Thanks for tip.

Yep, nobody wants to honor US credit cards, at least for now. Both UK and US are going thru some unsettling times right now.
 
mephisto wacks my paypal pretty fast- and GYO.green never had issues... not sure whats up.. hope its not en epidemic

But won't they ask where you are trying to use it? Won't they know it's a seedbank, i.e. illegal?
