I got a freebee Freak show seed that I germinated 2 weeks ago. Since most have never seen one before ,I thought I share the progress with the gang. I will take a picture of it once a week.
This one broke ground on April 12. Moved it into its permanent home
outdoors in a 30 gallon bag 2 days ago. Using the screen house early
this year because recent rains have created a grasshopper explosion.
The Girl Scout Cookies I planted a week later are already dwarfing the
Freaks but they'll catch up pretty soon I believe.
Have any of you tried SupaFreak yet? It was available through North Atlantic Seed Company at $20 per seed this past winter as a non-feminized but now they don't offer either. It looks exactly like the regular Freakshow.
SoOrbudgal the first season I grew Freaks I did absolutely no training just so I could get an idea of how they grew naturally. Helped me get an idea of how to address training in the future.
kingfish I haven't even tried topping one. With it's rapid growth, I've found that just arching the main stalk and then training the subsequent branches gives me plenty of colas and a nice yield. It works for me so I figure, why mess with what's working?
I topped mine. Probably what slowed and stunted its growth. The small harvest i got was so tasty. Even when drying it never smelled like Hay. Kept the fruity taste till the end, Up in smoke.
