Freak hailstorm survival story

These are before and after a freak hailstorm hit my 1st outdoor grow. They were about 2-3 weeks into flowering and they got hammered by an unforecasted storm. There were a lot of broken branches and I thought I’d loose most of it. Luckily a friend told me that if the branch is torn but still connected it likely will survive if the plant is held up and the branches are held back together tightly. They all made it to harvest and produced something like 6 lbs total. Most of them didn’t even seem to notice and I only ended up loosing 2 branches. These plants are incredibly resilient and easy to grow but tougher to grow really well. I give away most of what I grow and it’s the best hobby I’ve ever had.

I had a Girl Scout Cookie from Nirvana that turned out to be a Siamese twin my last grow. Unfortunately this genetic fluke did not hold up well in a high velocity wind storm. It split right down the middle. i was heartsick when I discovered it, but actually velcroed (is that a word? i think not) it back together. The plant made it to harvest producing plenty of fine smoke.

By the way I drive around handing out baggies of flower to the homeless on occasion. In the richest country in the world they deserve some kind of break. I keep food in the back seat to give out as well. Hungry already ya know they are gonna get the munchies really bad.

Outside we are subject to mother nature and her whims. I have broken limbs, and have had storms do it for me. I luv what it does when they live.
