Forced flowering

So I'm toying with the idea of forcing my outside deck plant into flowering early..(like the end of next week).
I can move it inside into darkness for my 12/12 schedule. The goal would be to let it finish naturally and leave it outside at or about the end of august.
I'm thinking of a 6:30-6:30 schedule to coincide with the daylight at the end of August.
Any experience or opinions?
Sept 1 sunrise 6:15am; sunset 7:26pm (checking notes from last year, plants were flowering by 9/1)

Yes, it will work. It’s calked light deprivation technique. Lots of info out there on this.

It'll definitely work. This is probably self evident, but watch that you're not bringing bugs into your indoor space, that you might have to deal with later. I did that this summer.....stupid, STUPID HappyDaze.

Thanks for the link and opinions. We shall see what I decide to do. My worry is the plant is going to get to large when the stretch hits.
After growing the strain this past winter, I know how she's going to stretch her legs. Not to mention I'd like the additional flowering time before mother nature decides to turn cold (g).

Decided to take the plunge and force this outdoor gg4 lady into early flowering. 12 on 12 off @ 6:30. Noticed what I believe is a bit of caterpillar damage,then saw a nest in an apple tree about 20ft away...got out the ladder and lopped of the effected branch on the tree. Also saw a japanese beetle on the plant. The battle to the finish line continues, let the stretch begin (ha).

Day 17 since forcing the GG4 to start flowering by putting her to bed in a closet for 12 hr/day @ 6:30.
This is the one I topped between the 4th and 5th node. Topped the 6 lowest branches, result in 12 main stems. Topped the top 2 branches, gave me 4 and topped those 4 giving me 8.
For a grand total of 20 main stem hopefully future colas. Confusing I know (lol!)
I've had minimum stretch, surprisingly so(perhaps because she's growing in sunlight, now 21" tall.
