flushing DWC

Pankace

My girl is suffering from some kind if deficiency. pH is in range and adding more nutrients aren't doing the job so my only guess is nutrient lockout. Should I flush the res with plain pH'd water for a couple days? It's in the middle of flower. I'm at a loss.

im sure we could use some pics. for identification from the experts plus checking reference for future issues. post em when you got em.

YES Pankace quick anytime you think something is bad fix it (reservoir change is in order)

You must put the Nutrients in order so important! It will be fine but you must watch for this and act quickly mother natureman!

Put back what it should be Pankace if it's full nutes do it . You are changing the res not harvesting yet . I don't think?

Sucks to hear that pankace. Need pics.

Plain water flush would be recommended. I'd keep the hydro guard or whatever you use to protect from root rot in there though.

I thought at first a calcium deficiency. After supplementing extra cal mag the problem progressed. This led me to believe it is a phosphorus deficiency. The purple stems however may be part of her genetics, changing from the top of stem as opposed to the bottom.

I changed the res with plain pH'd RO water with Hydrogaurd. Sunday I will add nutrients along with PK 13/14 to help correct the deficiency.

You just want to fix the mistake (nutrient lockout) don't put them in plain ph'd water . Mix a new batch of nutrients check ph give it to them.

From what I understand if it is nutrient lock out then adding more nutrients won't fix the problem. Her flower nutes should have more than what she needs but she's not taking them in.

being in DWC you don't need to flush any nutrients out of the medium like in soil. If it's lockout it's due to the composition of the feed solution in the res, simply changing out the res should fix the problem as the nutrients will be balanced

if it was a soil grow the medium would have to be flushed clean before the next feed

I agree with the others. Putting a plant in plain water is going to cause the leaves to yellow really fast in DWC. You want to give it the perfect environment at the roots now to help it recover, which includes good nutrients. In soil you're trying to correct a problem in the soil itself, but the cool thing about DWC is a reservoir change gives you a completely fresh start in just moments :)

Is it happening most to the parts of the plant closest to the light? Which nutrients are you using, and what are you keeping the pH at? Are you using a PH Pen or a kit with drops? It's hard to say, but it really looks like a pH problem to me.

Overall your plant actually looks really good and the buds are developing very nicely! Once you get this solved the plant won't even notice anything happened :)

The leaves affected seem very random. I keep pH within the 5.5 - 6.5 range and check it every day. I'm using Canna nutrients and Bluelab pen. Maybe my mistake was trying to correct a calmag deficiency when it was just needing a bigger dose of flower nutrients. I kept the nutrients at less than half strength because in veg she was VERY sensitive to them so I assumed it would react the same to bloom nutes. Big dumb me.

Hi Pankace :-)

Lets get this under control so you can have fun ....Look at this it even has the cal-mag you need. Follow this to the letter the whole grow cycle no deviations it works.....until the end you might have to check trichomes for the harvest.

Print this out and hang near your lab of Nutrients and Ph up and down . Ph~ the plant likes it just right at 6.00 not somewhere in between, keep at a certain number you pick it (but 6.00 is something to achieve). If you don't like this schedule you can make one yourself but this one works I love it!

This is for flora. I'm following Canna's feeding schedule that is on their website but it looks like their dosage is pretty close!
