Flowering with MH?

With the hot summer months approaching, I decided to flower both of my tents and start a new crop late fall ish. It'll be easier than trying to deal with the heat. So my question is, can I use my 600W Metal Halide bulb to flower in the 1 tent? Or will I need to go buy an HPS? I know it's not ideal, but does it affect the plants that much? I can live with a slightly smaller, or slightly lesser quality of a yield, I just don't want to be disappointed when it's time to crop.

HPS will bring in a larger yield. Bud quality is better with both going at the same time.
In the cave man growing era, mh was the only option for flower and veg. This was when 1lb per 1000w light was considered high yielding.

Yeah I figured that much, but will it be a lot less, or a little bit less? I've only been growing for about a year now, so I don't want to waste time and money to learn.

It’s significant enough. I would go with the HPS. Even if you go with the $20 cheap HPS bulb. You can use the MH for veg, the first 2 weeks, and last 2 weeks of bloom for compact buds and are loaded with trics.

The lumens to watts ratio is much higher on an HPS. So you spend the same on electricity, but end up with much less final product using mh.

Thank you that's exactly what I was looking for. Guess I'm going to be buying a bulb tomorrow. I don't mind spending a bit more for the better quality light. I was just hoping I didn't have to.

Thank you kindly sir :) I don't remember what brand I have in my usual budding tent. But I just finished up 2 plants that were a bit under a foot and a half each. After drying and everything I got 4.5 ounces.
