Flowering Time Validation

I have some Candy Kush AF that's nearing harvest. The seed's "Flower Time" is stated as 60-70 days, but what's the starting point for counting days? Is that when the pistils first begin to appear? I am monitoring the trichomes for maturity and that will dictate when I actually harvest but I'm currently at 61 days since the seeds germinated. I don't want to miss the ideal window but it it seems the 60-days-from-flower guideline is still another couple of weeks out and I'm afraid I may go over the window. Any advice?
 
Do any scrogging? Training?Topping? If so - then add a few weeks to that timeline. Just a guess with the limited information you are supplying
Usually counted after pistils are showing.
 
This is a first-time grow so I didn't do anything but let the plant grow naturally. You've answered what i was looking for, flowering days start when the pistils begin. If that's true then I probably have another two weeks or so before it's mature and ready to harvest. I'm just trying to ensure that I don't grow past the bud's optimal time and I'm using the 60-70 day window as a guide. I've been observing the trichomes and they are white, but not amber yet. How long does this phase last, generally? I don't want to see white today and all amber tomorrow. I presume the color-changing period lasts a couple of days to a couple of weeks?
 
yes - use it as a guide. How long to change? Depends on the strain - some change faster than others. But they don't change overnight.
 
Hello MarkMariMan congrats on almost harvesting your first plant. I'm about where you are with 3 auto flower lemon haze. I just re-counted my days from seed to seedling in dirt/final pot. Mine are currently 76days in the pot as a seedling. All 3 same strain same start time look different from each other genetically. Get where i'm going?? All are not maturing at the same time but they are in same environment have had zero issues with them.

1 has all orange hairs curled in and it's clear/cloudy trichs. 1 has no orange hairs very little hairs yet frosty and sticky almost silver covered all over smell fantastic and she is all cloudy few amber. The 3rd is still spitting out hairs no where near harvest. Go figure it's just ready when you decide the ripness. I'm noticing the longer they go a little foxtail is forming at the top main cola of 2. I'm on edge also LOL
 
All of your comments are appreciated. You've validated what I was thinking so that helps a lot. I'm guessing that it won't be long now....
