I use Miracle Grow veg and another for flower. Only difference is the NPK ratio. Just dumped half a gallon of flower nutes on my veg ones a half hour ago.
I did it on the seed run girls in coffee containers. Keeping them small was a goal so it kept them alive but they could have done better with more nitrogen.
The only reason I can think of would be that premixed nutrients tend not to stay viable for very long after application. I really have no idea how much P&K a plant uses during veg but making it available doesn't seem like a bad idea. The soil mixture I make is supposed to have everything my plants need from seed to harvest. As long as your PH remains good, I think you'd be golden. Good question.
