Fits perfect

Potted

I'm growing 6 autos outside in 2 gal. Smart pots the rain is nutral at 7 ph,not so good for plants,I think I've come up with a way to keep most of the rain out. I picked up some clear plastic saucers at the depot sold to put under pots.if I flip and cut a hole in the middle big enough to fit a seedling thru about a inch round it fits inside the smart pot and even helps hold its shape. Roots still breath thru sides and protects from them from some insects,I also put smart pots up on top of grated plastic bases to keep off soil so it doesent wick up, has any body tried this? Or if not does it sound feasible? Inquireing minds need to know.As always all replies are met with much gradatude.

I think it's a great idea u should be proud of most of us improvise with what we have or can find I no there is no better feeling then when it works how we want it to

Sounds like a good plan but be sure to secure it, a strong wind could catch it and flip the saucer/rain cover and behead the seedling

Thies saucers fit real tite to the inside of the.pot, but for safety sake I do agree a stake or two thru the dome would insure any type of misshap ! Thanks
