First try at starting seeds

60 hours in nothing has came out of the rooter yet. I am thinking they got too hot they did germinate they look like I haven’t touched them but I’m looking in the hole I can see the seeds all split and 2 have decent sized sprouts. Worried that it getting to 97 in there killed them. Just gotta wait it out a bit more I suppose
 
Checked them before coming to work nice and moist. Went a mind bought a heat bulb like you’d use for chicks and have the temp humidity much more controlled. What I get for going cheap on the heat mat. Hoping I just delayed the sprouting. If I don’t see more tomorrow I’ll probably pop a couple more.

I pulled the rapid rooters shocked one of the aurora indicas had an inch and a half long root coming out the bottom! Two others were as well the Wonder Woman is still lagging behind but she working her way up it looks like. They were just transferred to solo cups with FFOF that I added about 20% more perlite to. I think I will start a grow journal for these ladies.
 
hey Locrian i'm assuming you raised the lights to take a picture ,if not the one in back row on right is stretching like its looking for light
 
I thought she looked like she was stretching. I had the light vdimmed, I turned it up have the light at 26” the mfr says 26-30! For seedlings. Imthanks thinking it was the dimming.
 
They were all looking stretchy this AM I lowered the lights , manufacturer says 26-30” for seedling thinking that is wrong.
 
when I do seedlings or clones I have a folding table with a 2 foot t5 when its seedlings its about 3 to 5 inches away.when its clones its about 6 or 7 it will sit right on the humidity dome . in my Auto room I started at 24 and they stretched so I brought it to 18 burned a little so now they are at 20 and girls are loving it ,I think leds have to be dialed in to the grow they are being used on, so you might have to move them a couple more times
 
I know what u are saying about leds I still am playing with the height it's like welding aluminium there is such a small working window. Unlike my hid it stays at 1 hight the whole grow.
 
I actually started two more they took right off. Guy at the grow shop gave me some coco to try out, so I started another GSC and Wonder Woman. That will be growing in coco and will stay in the “veg tent” through flower. The coco is called Paragon it’s made 10 minutes from my house curious to try it out.
 
You can't always go by what the manufacturer says about hanging height, they are all different, you have got to move them around to find the right spot, when you find the right spot, you can tell by your plants.Normally 18-20 inches.
