I'll start by saying this is my first time growing. I have 2 White Widows and 1 Amnesia Haze, all 3 are autos in peat pellets. I was confident until they poked their heads out of the dirt yesterday, and now the questions are setting in. Growing in a 4x4 tent. Right now I have 2- 75 watt CFLs about 6" above the starts, but I do have a 275w Vivosun LED ready if I need it. When do I set up a screen to ScrOG, and how high should it be? Do I make 2x2 squares? I have a million more questions, but this is a good start.

Starting out, it's best to focus really hard on the fundamentals...lighting, grow media, nutrients, environment including air flow, temperature control, RH control. You have a lot of space for the light you've selected and you've chosen two strains that are going to be tough to grow together. You're jumping in at the deep end, that's for sure.

You might want to read through some of Nebula's small tent tutorials before you choose what size SCROG netting you're going to use. (I weave mine on 3"-3.5" spacing, using braided cord, not the twisted stuff. I use a short piece of line and tie off the intersections as tight as possible. I can adjust the spacing by about a half inch in either direction to place stems where I want by sliding the knotted part back and forth.)

Good luck, have fun!

Cheers,

Daze

I would add, any new grower should grow out the first crop naturally, unless you don’t have the height- then top/film for that.

otherwise, just set up your vivosun at 28” from the soil top @ 20/4 schedule and watch/observe how it grows, before you attempt to change the way the plant grows with advanced techniques.

Yeah Hardtail - you're going to make it too hard for yourself taking on a scrog.

Listen to what these growers who've already posted here are trying to tell you.

I would encourage you to top your plants - read Nebula's article on that, read it again picturing yourself doing it and then read it for a third time making sure you didn't miss anything. Read it again before you attempt your topping.

CFL's are all right while the seedling turns into a bigger plant - downside is you're adjusting the lights 3 or more times a day.

Good luck growing.
