First time growing

My buddy used some 4’x8’ insulation sheets to section off a portion of his basement. Built a make shift room out of them. Might work for your situation.
I have also seen these... but I have never used them before.

Lol as awesome as giant legos would be, the space just wouldn't work great for sectioning off right now. But with what i did today i was able to keep temps below 79 and rh at 41 so that might be my happy medium. They are definitely much better now after the work i did on them this week. The one plant still has the ugly leaves but it's only the bottom and a very small few dots on the second set. Maybe it was just something with the seed. Or i corrected whatever the problem was.

79 and 41 is good. You are on the boarderline. A swamp cooler might be what you need to overcome the obstacle... especially when the summer time comes.
Hoping the new growth comes in clean and fast.

Today is about 2 weeks since the seeds broke ground, i think i have things setup pretty good right now, maybe not perfect on the rh but they seem to be picking up speed on growing, and roots are doing pretty good it seems. Ph has finally stabilized. Didn't raise a noticeable amount overnight last night. I think my next res change (probably next weekend) I'm going to let the water sit for a few days and see if that helps. It'll help get there temps closer to normal too. Have some armor si arriving today. I'll probably mix a small dose in for now and wait for the next res change to do the recommended amount.

Just remember unless you are completely changing the nutrients, there will always be a terminal amount of mix left in the water. Aside from what the plant metabolizes, you still won’t know the residual amounts so when topping off, keep that in mind or you may accidentally over shoot the recommended mix

Yeah i plan on just using fresh water to top off between res changes. I have it set up so i can change the res without lifting the lid on the tote and the first one was pretty painless so i think I'll be doing a res change every week just to keep things fresh.

Things going smoothly, got a humidifier for the basement, rh in tent is about 50 and I'm able to exchange the air more and keep the temps around 77. I upped the nutes slightly. Gh says 2 tsp/gal, the chart in this site said 1/2 tsp. I bumped it up to 3/4 and it's been about 24 hours and everything looks good. According to the scrog tutorial i should be pinching my tops here soon. (5th set to come in). The 4th set is coming in currently.

Training day! Was pretty worried about this day. Thought about it last night but i was seeing some cupping leaves. Forgot to fill the humidifier. Ran that and everything looked good this morning so i pinched the new growth tops. The smallest plant was kinda difficult, might have ended up being a fim. But the tutorial said 1/4 to 1/2 inches on the fifth mode to pinch, and the largest was 1/2 almost exactly, the smallest was a bit bigger than 1/4. Hopefully i didn't message it all up lol. I'm sure that's what everyone's thinking the first time...

Full res change tonight, raisedrnutes slightly, experimenting with them a bit. Getting some clawing on one but I'm not sure if maybe that's a response to the pinching, the fan, or nutes. Going to keep an eye on it in case i have to lower the nutes back down. The plants seen to be recovering already, The blue dreams have definitely taken over there height advantage tho!

The clawing happened to me when the nutes hit over 1000ppm...from that point on after 3 tries to raise it, I just left it around 800....my starting baseline was around 130-145ppm

My baseline is 159 and when the clawing first shown i was at 560 ppm. The new mix is 695 ppm. Doesn't seem like it should be too much but we'll see. Hadn't gotten any better or worse after about 5 hours light/ 6 hours of darkness that it's been this way so far. Everything I've read says blue dream loves nitrogen too and that's what the clawing plant is. Ph had been stable at 6 for a week and a half as well so it was kinda of strange. Other than that my two new Main stems seem to be coming in on all except one that i grazed a leaf stem and it seemed to have affected it because it stayed small until it healed and is now smaller than the other. So hopefully those stems will start coming in now.

FYI: I was never able to reverse the claw once it was seen and I really think a very slight bump over my target ppm (about 750 total) would cause it too start again.. I just always followed a General Hydro trio to about 3/4 of recommended dosages and when I saw the claw starting.... total complete flush.... near 40 gallons. The lawn should be growing like crazy come spring😜

Well the one i nicked the leaf on i ended up topping it below that node due to that leaf not growing at all and the new growth below it growing really fast. It seems like it was growing like it was topped anyways because nothing was growing in between the two top leaves like the others. I kind of like how that plant turned out the best anyways (top left). Still waiting for the other pants to grow their new stems but they're also filling out a lot everywhere at the same time. Kinda worried about how tall they're getting. The scrog tutorial has you wait untill they grow out to start tying things down but mine seem much larger than the pictures so idk if i did something wrong here but oh well lol. They do seem to be growing much faster now if you take into account the amount of leaves they're growing at once.

Well they are growing pretty damn fast! Started tying down finally, just didn't know what i was going to do at the top of the blue dreams because they were growing so much different, not really bushy at all compared to the black Russians, but I suppose that's the sativa dominance. Next time around i think I'll have the initial topping part down a lot better. I mainly just tried to tie down to get everything inside a bit more light. After they kind of recover and start looking up again I'll do my last pinching on them and get ready for the screen. I'm not 100% sure on when most people put their screens in, i just want those blue dream tops to grow out a bit so they're a little easier to manipulate.

So here's where i currently sit. Been fighting with Tying them down, going to have to come up with a new system next grow, but I'm making due. I'll probably put the screen in this week once my ventilation stuff arrives. Broke a main branch in the top right plant but you can hardly tell. I pinched most of the new growth about 4 days ago, some are getting the newer growth coming in. My questions are:

Should i defoliate any of the fan leaves? If so, how much?

Should i be cutting off the lower branches and growth? Lollipopping?

How much longer should i give them before switching to 12/12?
Not sure how much i should let the new growth tips grow after pinching before switching over.

Do not use any of those techniques during veg. How long they veg depends on your light source. You want to stack enough nodes tall to best utilize the available light. You want the plants wide to cover the square area. Looks like you still have a way to go if your light is half decent. I use HID so might be better to get someone to chime in if they use the same style of lighting as you do.

Well I had the scrog in but took it back out for now. I have been keeping things spread out a bit and have had new growths constantly filling the center in. I think I'm about as wide as I'm going to get it. They're about 10 inches tall from base to the highest points as well. They all seem to be Pretty healthy and i imagine in the next few weeks i should be switching then.

It's been a little bit, not much to report, everything seems to be going pretty good. I'm about a week and 2 days into 12/12. I might have vegged a week too long as it's starting to get crowded on the blue dream side. But everything is looking healthy!
