I'm starting my 1st grow just looking for some advice. I'm going to be using cuttings whats the ideal distance I need from my plant to my light I've got fout plants and one light.
That’s absolutely the only way to put it....for example: CFL’s can be 3†from the leaves and some LED’s need to be almost 3’. Most indoor grows are looking for footprint space to cover so generally..shoot for 50watts / sq.ft. And that can be misleading based on the apples to oranges comparison.... some purple looking led claim to be 1100-1200w yet draw 300w from the wall outlet. Decide on which type of lighting you’re interested in....consider heat generation as part of that equation...Full Spectrum LED May be a cooler choice compared to CMH or HPS. T-5 fluorescents are also a low heat option...but consider total yield for your crop
You may want to invest in a lux meter. That way you can ensure your plants are getting the right amount of light. It also helps you to know how far from the light the output goes. The one I bought cost about $34 on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
