First time grower setting up grow room

Hi everybody
I've finally decided to try my hand at indoor growing as a friend of mine has given me a 6mx3mx2m grow tent as a gift as it was to big for his place but fits nicely at my place. My question is this I'm looking to become a bubblehead and or go into a RDWC setup, I was hoping that there might be someone out there that has a similar setup and can give me some pointers on how to setup my tent for a grow as in how many buckets I can place in the tent, lighting, reservoir size etc etc. any helpful advice would be much appreciated.

Welcome warrior, nice thinking becoming a bubblehead!!There's many bubblehead's on here with great journals, sure you'll be helped out!!Good luck

Welcome warrior. I have done mainly dwc for the short time i have been growing and a lot of it depends on how you want to grow.

I personally do 2gal buckets for my res's because of space limitations but have to refill my res more often. I also like the fact that they are separate because this prevents the roots from tangling. Many people use large res's with multiple plants in the same res and do fine, i just like my way lol.

How many plants depends on the space. Are you sure it is in meters and not feet? That seems really large for a grow tent.

Lighting, well depends on the size of the tent and the number of plants. If your tent is in meters then you have enough space for a good LED setup if you wanted.

I say all of this but really there are some good articles on the site that can probably help you out better than i can.

Thanks syncro92 I was thinking of definitely going with the 600's with 20 litre buckets all tied into a cool tube system and manifolding or topping with a sea of green set up with a Scrog netting the whole show

If i may...DONT get a cool tube!Unless you get 3+ of them...Their reflective surface is limited.I would go for aircooled hood instead, theres quite a variety depending on your budget, temps well be lower, reflection will be better and for 10 $ a piece higher i believe it is worth it!! I myself have a SpuTnik (the cheap version of SpuDnik) aircooled and i struggle to get 25C + with 600w MH so i took the glass off!!For the HPS im sure it will be brilliant with the glass on if i remember not to touch it lol!!!

Manifolding will make it HARD to make a SoG,as i was advised ,don't do a SCRoG until you plan for one all the way (i dont think you can scrog a manifolded plant though im still on my first grow, please enlighten me)!

You can do the basic of manifolding which is creating the T shape plant and then work your way into creating the colas you want (still not sure it will go in a scrog) and as far as SoG goes, you will need to have access to the Manifolded plants in order to hold up colas that are getting heavy, support stems etc,the sog/scrog will stop you from having that access at some point....

Not trying to blow your dreams away,i wrote more or less on my first grow journal (still on it) and then i realized,as much as i want my plants to lok like the ones in the photos ive been looking at,theres to do's and not to do's in terms of combining growing techniques !!

That said i hope you can show me differently and i will leave your thread with much more great information than that which i came to share!!

Thanks again Nartak I'll definitely take that on I was going to go with aircooled hoods but was told that the cool tubes were better and I will not dive n with the manifolding now but stick to the original plan of topping and growing them out in the T formation. Fingers crossed it will turn out like all the pictures that I see posted.

I use a cool tube WORKS FOR ME!. I can place my hand on top of the cool tube with a 600 watt bulb burning and feel no heat. 747 CFM inline fan and matching filter works well in a tent

They just have useless reflection, the side of the lights just gets tossed to nowhere?
Im quite sure hoods cover a better footprint anyway..

Hey dontknownuttin
You wouldn't be able to able to advise me on a grow of that size how many 600 watters I would need to fill the tent properly for correct lighting.
