First Time Grower - overcoming mistakes

I have a question. Should I wet trim or dry trim?
Wet trim would be faster and I already bought a dry bag.
Or I could hang them and let dry for two weeks.
 
I've wet trimmed a couple times. In my experience, wet trimming takes longer because everything sticks to everything else. There is a lot of scissor and finger alcohol washing.
All that goo that gets cleaned during wet trimming would otherwise be trichomes that get collected. Everything sticky is a wasted trichome. Finger and scissor hash are peachy, and junk, but trichomes are what we're after, yeah?
This ginger is a dry trimmer.
 
It partially depends on your drying conditions. If the humidity is to low, then use a dry trim after drying. If humidity is to high, use wet trim before drying. The rest is personal preference. I really like scissor hash.
 
But scissor hash is wet. Chlorophylly. You can still get scissor hash from dry, and it's dry!
Your humidity concern is well pointed.
 
Okay the humidity outside now is 79.
And the humidity in my room is now 56. And I have the air conditioning on now. When I turn off and open my window it's usually 62 in the morning. But when I turn my AC on it's like between 40s and 50s.
 
And also I only have about at the most 30 grams on each flower.
So I think it'll be much easier since I have drying bag and scissors I already ordered and humidity packs for the mason Jars. So I think it would be best if I did the wet trim. And then dry for 3 to 5 days. Then place into Mason jar. I hope this will work as they are really good looking buds that I can trim pretty easily with scissors.
 
Trim according to your drying environmental conditions.

If you are 60⁰F & 60%RH you can do either. If you have humidity typically higher than 60%RH then Id recommend wet trimming. If lower, dry trimming. It is relative to temperature though.

You want a 7 day dry to bring the moisture content of the flower to 58 to 63% as measured as RH in the jar at 21⁰C.

Dry trimming is much easier than wet trimming. Wet trimming is the cautious approach if you have big buds and concerned about mold. Ive had pretty high RH but only got mold drying bud when they were touching something.

If its really dry and hot where you are, hang the entire plant roots and all. If it's wet and cold, break up the buds and dry on a drying rack.

Personal preference this subject.
I'm a wet trimmer, I know ppl who only trim fan leaves and dry trimmers but mostly wet trimmers. You get a much more even yet quicker dry when you wet trim I also love finger and scissor hash it's like the reward at the end of the trimming session, another thing to remember if you got sugar leaves in your mull it will be a harsher, straw tasting smoke, easier to get them off wet before they curl up into the buds. You could leave one plant and trim the other see what you think.

Your humidity is fine for drying either way.

Im with you, always wet trim here, although Mrs Bluey does the bulk of the wet trimming, I do the harvesting, hanging and automation in the dry room, weighing, jarring, curing, growing..everything else

..lol
 
I'm doing the dry trim process.
I would have done the wet trim but I read this kinda late.
And was in sort of a rush when doing the cutting.

I have one last question.
Okay so to tell when they are done drying ?
Is by either snapping the stem or bend it see if it snaps
Or a moisture wood meter. But that's like 40$ I don't want to invest anymore money on only 2 ozs.
So is there a way , because today is Day 5 and I tried to bend a stem and it was all oar going to snap so I stopped.
But I just don't want to buy a moisture meter.
 
I agree with you about the moisture meter. That guideline about a small stem ‘snapping’ I think is dealer’s choice. Try several different ones and different sizes.

If you’re not sure you can jar up some bud and see what the hygrometer says. If the RH is well above 62 leave the lid off the jar for a while or empty the jar and let the buds dry another 24 hours and test again.
 
Yea just go with the stem snapping, obviously smaller buds will dry out quicker than bigger ones so one day you might jar up the small stuff, next day or two then big buds.
