First Time Grower, New Question: Big Leaves

My Grease Monkey plant is growing great! Thanks to those on here who have given me advice along the way.
today’s question is about pruning.
The plant is about 3 1/2 feet tall, gets plenty of sun and air circulation. A lot of new growth underneath the top canopy.
Some of the original leaves, at or near the top, are now six inches (or more) long at their longest point (see pics). They seem to throw a lot of shade on the new growth underneath.
should I prune a few of those huge leaves to get more sun to the rest of the plant?

Ideally you would tie the top over a bit exposing the underside to the morning sun but in that pot you are limited to maybe rotating the plant 90° daily so it's getting a bit more all over... What happened to the bottom fan leaves? You will want to leave leafs that you have left on otherwise you have nothing much to be doing the photosynthesis stuff.
With outdoor plants I've had good success with leaving bottom fan leaves, and at least four laterals of fan leaves at the top and thinning out the middle but I do multiple topping and train them so they get quite big and bushy.

The bottom leaves have just come in in the last few weeks. Plant was weird, kind of a Charlie Brown Christmas tree at the beginning, long stem with no foliage until the very top. A few weeks in and finally got growth down low, but those leaves are smaller because they’re new
