An old guy newbie here. Just had a successful 1st grow indoors with photo-period girls and I'm getting ready for a grow with autos. My question regards lighting; Do auto flowers need the same "no stray light whatsoever" during their dark hours as photos need once the switch to 12/12? Thanks in advance, Cosmo.

Just don't worry about ambient light when your lights are off and growing auto flowers. That's #1 beauty of them for me no lighting worry. When you buy them check to read all about how to grow that " feminized " auto seed. You can get reg. seed also but fems are sure thing ( 99%) you will get female buds. You just don't want to play rough with them like you can a photo for your first time. Come back and tell us what you got for a set up, good luck Cosmo823
Thanks everyone. I've got all fem seeds for these autos. 2 ES-300's (V2 and V3) in essentially a 4x4 space. I'm out in the Mojave so my issues are heat and no humidity. It's nice to be able to open up the tent more as running an exhaust fan is really not an option. I'll start the grow October 1st and that will be good heat wise. I run a humidifier along with small oscillating fans in the tent. Seems to have worked well for the photos on my first grow. Hoping for the same with the autos.
