So i have a white widow autoflower growing. Its been going for about 9 weeks now. Ive been trying to check the trichomes with a jewelers loupe but i honestly cant see much and dont really know what to look for. Some of the pistils on the top of the plant are turning brown, but the lower ones are mostly white. Just trying to figure out what im looking at here. And any advice would be greatly appreciated.

There is a lot of great quality help at the GWE site. Try this: http://www.growweedeasy.com/harvest and this: http://www.growweedeasy.com/make-buds-sparkle-with-more-trichomes

Your flowers look like they are in late bloom but not done yet. I'm no expert, but I'd say maybe plant to harvest around the weekend after next (2 weeks?).

Jeweler's loupe: Using a high magnification magnifier is a skill! I have found that a support to steady my hand really helps so I can get a steady image, and that bright light coming from the side helps too (think very early morning sunlight). Stick with it and you'll get the hang of it.

A good camera (not cell phone) with a macro lens can be a good tool to try too.

Good luck and happy harvesting!
