First grow, first post

First off, hello! Excited to be here. Love the site. Helped a newb like me more than you can imagine. I have years of experience growing shrooms but I've never tried weed before. My girlfriend and I decided it was something we needed to do. She was born with a condition that causes chronic pain, and thanks to Obama and his Healthcare reform, it put serious red tape on pain management patients. They pretty much label everyone as drug addicts and junkies, which is what most people turn into with big pharm drugs. With some time we got her completely off of prescription drugs. Why? Cuz weed is better on every level. She has been a completely different person with weed and couldn't be happier.

We are literally just starting our first grow. The seed is germinating in a cup of water as we speak. I know this board is new, but would it be appropriate to start a grow journal? If not I'm sure I'd have enough questions to suit about every subject in the grow.

Just wondering how your seed in a cup is doing?

This is my first grow also. Started with 21 bag seeds on July 20th. All sprouted and took off like wild fire. After eliminating all known males, and a few that turned hermie, I am now left with 5 beautiful girls finishing their third week of bloom cycle. Things have slowed down considerably and it's hard to stave off the impatience. At least six more weeks, probably more, until everything is dried, cured and ready to be consumed. In fact, things moved so quickly that we didn't have any supplies on hand to keep those seedlings moving along. We really scrambled buying buckets, soil, lights, fans, etc., not to mention a grow tent.

Start up costs were quite extensive, but hubby is waiting, as I type, for some medical fem seeds from nirvana. We will be all ready to go when they arrive.

Good luck and I hope you keep us updated.
