First ever grow. Just add water

So I've never grown a plant to harvest before. I have a buddy close by who has had some nice crops now for a while.
On a whim after playing golf I asked him for a cutting. So kind of late, June 5th, the mother was about 4' tall at the time, I got a clipping of a Gelato 44 plant.

I stuck it in a shot glass and put it in the window. It seemed to still be alive a couple weeks later, though roots were not really evident. I was going out of the area for 5 days so I put it in a little peat pot with some soil. When I , got back it was still doing fine and growing a little.

On this site, I found the "Just Add Water" tutorial. So I got all the ingredients to make the super soil and planted the clone into a 10 gallon fabric pot on 7/3.



Today is 8/12 so it's been in the pot for 5 1/2 weeks. I mentioned this grow method to some folks at Green Fire Sacramento and they were beyond skeptical of this method.

So I am keep a very close eye on it and have been chatting with the GPT about it. It still seems to be doing well visually and I have stayed true to the method giving it 6.5 - 6.8 PH water. Our tap water that I keep in 5 gallon buckets that are at least 3 days old so no chlorine, which is all out water dept uses

Litle more information would be nice to have for the group. Which super soil fertilizer did you go with? My next grow starting this fall will be using NLS concentrate & FF Coco-Loco along with their flower girl supplement as a first run since, I'm indoors in a hot apartment on the roof of my building. I'll let the outdoor growers provide more details but depending on the time of pictures (pre/post watering) they might be wanting more/less water/fertilizer mix, looking at the droopy leaves? What is your water's pH level?

I used this Natures Living Soil for the super concentrate. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07BDKTT7Q

I then used Foxfarm Happy Frog potting soil as the potting soil to mix with the super concentrate.

I made two 10 gallon fabric pots with the mix. I used 2.5 pounds of the NLS for each of them rather than the 2 lbs just to use it all.

In retrospect, it would be nice to have the additional 1 lb of it if the plant starts to look like it needs more nutrients, though I am not sure what that would even look like.

As mentioned in original post, I adjust the PH of the water to be between 6.5 and 6.8 before watering.

It seems to be doing pretty well so far.

If you follow that tutorial pretty exactly you should be alright is a good easy way to grow. Keep it well watered so it can access those nutes, that will be the tricky part for a beginner. Not too little not too much
Looking pretty good so far don’t mess with it too much.
If you wanted to you could find a premixed dry amendment for the bloom phase and top dress that based on the label to power up the end.

You were fortunate that your cutting was from a strain that would do so.

Your plant is budding. Time to scour the GWE website for how to feed, when to harvest, how to dry and cure. Your grow journey is just starting. Grow knowledge is smokable bud power.

It probably helped that I put it in the soil when I did. There weren't any visible roots at the time, but it must have been ready.
There is a ton of great info here and I have been going through lots of stuff that will apply such as when to harvest and how to cure.

But the whole point of the Just add Water method is to prepare the soil so that the "how to feed" is not needed.

That was kind of the point of this post. I was curious what kind of success anyone may have had taking a plant all the way to harvest without having to feed it.

So far, it's looking pretty good.
