First Auto Grow

So I’m doing my first auto grow, and am wondering if it’s normal for most auto strains to take FOREVER to get going in the first few weeks. Using FFOF and have one in a solo one in 3g smart pot. The smart pot seed is going on two weeks and only that big. The other is about 1.5 weeks in. Everything else I’ve grown (photos) would have had a few nodes by now.

Well Greenlivin like anyother grower your going to hear many different stories about auto transplants. Get ready...….I don't put my little seedlings into large container until they have started growing 2-3 nodes. Period end of my way of doing autos. Wait for it......your gonna get more ideas.:shock:

These are all 10 days old (Experimenting on seed starting)

Three seeds from same vendor.
2 started in water and once root formed moved to grow tote or aero, third seed just stuck in the areo at the same time I started soaking the seeds.

While I do go from solo cup to 3gal fabric pot I also let her grow bigger first. If there is enough plant to start thinking of topping and LST then it may be big enough to transplant. When you go to the bigger pot be sure to only water in a circle around the plant...maybe a couple inches from the stem. Makes the roots work to find more space. Don't water the full pot just yet. Also, no added nutrients just yet. FFOF has enough for 4 - 6 weeks depending on strain and environment. It'll just sit for a little while while it acclimates to the space and then start going full tilt.

My experience and understanding is the roots have to develop in their new surroundings before the tops really take off.

Yup... what JohnEmad said. I usually wait the 3 weeks that my CFL’s are running and then re-pot up. I know I’m good when the ball of roots from the cup, barely breaks apart

Yeah, pretty sure winner to start in water, wait on the root and place it. For my setup, then going straight to the tote works better than trying to get it started in the areo and then moving. And definitely better than just throwing the seed in the pot and praying. I just wanted to show you a plant about the same age as you were looking at.
