FIRE!!! Are you prepared?

Have you taken any steps to be prepared in the event of a fire?

I have a battery operated photoelectric smoke detector mounted in my cupboard, there's a hard wired one on the roof in the room that the cupboard is in as well as two other hard wired ones in the house.
I also have two 1kg dry powder fire extinguishers around the house in case of any fire emergency, grow related or not.

I'm glad you posted this. We have no smoke detector in the garage where we grow. Yes, we have several fire extinguishers in the house. I will tell hubs to install one in garage before our next grow.

great idea! inexpensive and could mean the difference between a small fire caught early or no house left. Nobody wants to come home to a smouldering house, especially with cops poking around (if not in a legal state)

I have a ball in my tent! no worry's here!!!! I just tie this up on the roof of my tent!. A smoke alarm only works if someone's around to hear it!. This ball just takes care of your tent fire even if you are out at the movies!

yeah I've seen those things. They're a lot better than just a smoke alarm. I'll invest in one of those at some point maybe after another grow or two, there's pretty much always someone home here though so at the moment the extra expense isn't really a priority.

I have a co2/smoke detector built in the closet where I grow because that same closet has my gas furnace, so it was already there before I started to grow, also I have all my wires about 8ft off the ground away from all the water and I have 2 fire extinguisher in my home just in case of a kitchen fire, I also love to cook so I'm always trying new things and sometimes cooking with alcohol can sometimes go wrong in a sense lol, but I am prepared lol

I have read that if after a fire it is proven your fire was started in a grow. Your claim will be denied! Fire suppression makes sense!

Would be bad if there was a fire. Nothing attached to my home so its just going to burn down a structure- but damn that would suck.

In the light if our recent tent flood these kind of questions really get us thinking about how prepared we really are. Fire is only one potential hazard to what we as growers face.

Fire, water, electrical, chemical, physical, psychological. Lots of hazards that are there but not always thought of before something bad happens.

Surprisingly yes. If it weren't for the liner it would have been much worse. The water was contained but the pumps were in the water. I could have prevented this in a number of ways. Hard lesson learned.
