Fimming auto's ?

Hello GWE...........I hope everybody is well and happy :)....my question to the community today is "Has anyone used the fiming technique on an auto flowering plant?"....over the last year I have acquired a wealth of knowledge on topping and mainline/manifold auto's..........in fact I have been lucky enough to have seen masters of this way of growing at work:)......and currently have a mainline/manifold auto growing in my tent......but I don't remember reading about fiming auto's!!......now I have a seedling that is not far from the time to top but if I "Fim" it instead.....Will I bypass the recovery time of topping?....I'm pretty sure if I "Fim" that a mainline/manifold is out......but will I get more colas?....without the recovery time of topping?.........Thanks to all who stop in and read/comment:)Happy Growing:)

P.S. Apologies if this has been recently covered.....I must have missed it!:)

Recovery time should be less with fimming over topping.

Fimming does not guarantee more than 2 tops. It just makes it a possibility. You have to hit it the right spot to get more than 2. Luck of the draw man.

SO are you wanting to fim a manifold or you just want to fim?

Since a manifold is a method of topping I'm not sure what the reason to fim would be?

I'm asking so I can learn , not saying it can't be done

I think hes saying instead of topping to do a manifold. He is just gonna fim and let it grow normally. Mainfolding with a fim lets say that he gets 4 shoots is now impossible. Manifolding is 2 shoots to create even symmetrical growths. After fimming with the 3 or 4 or more shoots he could only lst. Losing the opportunity to do the manifold.

Im pretty sure thats what hes aiming for.

Couldn't have said it better myself UrbZ .... Paracelsus if I use the fim method I will be unable to manifold....as the extra stems can be random....not saying it can't be done...I've just never seen it....I am just curious about fiming an auto......as many people top and manifold, myself included, if fiming is done for a better yield and is less damaging to the plant....has anybody tried it?......I'm pretty sure I'm going to now lol :)

The advantage to fiming is recovery time and shorter veg time, I've seen comparisons where the yield is close both methods.

It's just so funny cuz how many ways there are to do things. Like my current grow I basically did a double manifold. I waited till they were 5 nodes tall and the 2nd node matched the 3rd nodes height. Topped to the 3rd and chopped the 1st off the same time. Then immediately I lst'd them out in all 4 directions creating a cross or an x design. Then I just chopped out every other set of the growth shoots that pointed of North and South.

gbauto gbau

Heres one pic before and after. The second pic was a couple days before a took the vertical nodes. The first pic is 3 weeks later or so.

Here are 2 other plants that I did the same method on just less defoliation.

Morning Vapo69, try it Vapo69, and I'll try it, it couldn't hurt, hard to get it just right, but if done early enough ,I don't think it should slow them down at all.

Ok dude no probs......I have a blue toof that is just pushing out the 3rd node.....when do you reckon?

That's a damn good idea, Nebula might know all about it. All mine are to old ,but I will sure start some more autos. How many days old are your autos topped, I try to top early if they are healthy an growing good,..
I'm letting my fingernails grow out, cause I always miss with scissors, not fingernails that much.

I usually wait for the fourth node out a bit, so i don't have to top too close to the third......she is pushing third now, but way short soooooo...I'm going to wait for fourth node......maybe 5th dude:)

P.S.......This was supposed to be above.......stoner mistake haha:)

Hey D.A.A.S.69 UrbZ Californiakid and anyone who posted on here and was/is interested in the fiming auto's topic.........I have just watered another plant in my tent and while I was doing so......I spotted this on the Blue Toof auto(see pics)that I intend to Fim....now I do not know if I should top her and expose the extra growth tip?....or still go ahead and Fim it?.....and see what happens?......as this girl is extra already..........I would really value your opinions in this guys, and as always any who stop in too:). ..... NebulaHaze if you have time too:)........oh yeah!, I have done nothing to it yet either.....no leaves taken or anything:).....and only 1 maybe 2 feedings:)

I would still experiment with fimming. I would also leave the extra growth and just lst it later when you do the rest. It will grow out.
