Filter fan noise?

The filters that came with my cabinet seem to be...rather noisy. Do others have good suggestions for either trying to quiet them down or different models that are nearly silent?

My own experience was a 6” flex tube and charcoal filter that came with a 445 cuft fan. The fan was too noisy for me to use so I tried the t-6 cloudline and was thrilled with it. Aside from quiet, it has a remote box to set temperature extreme, speeds of the fan and auto settings. However, I do not know what your cabinet has or needs. This was used in a 10x10 room ...flawless performance and would recommend it depaending on your needs

I had similar problem. Bought a small fan, it wasn’t enough. So I went and bought a bigger than I need. It was too much, bought an adjuster, so I had that annoying humming noise.

A variac sort me out. Because it is a bit bigger, and runs slower, it’s also more quiet:)

Fan noise is caused by an imbalance in the fan causing a vibration, which transfers to whatever it is mounted to. Hanging the noisy bastard from a rubber snubber or a bungee cord will often help.
