FFHF + free fungus gnats

I have used Happy Frog three times now. First time had fungus gnats that took me weeks to get rid of. Second time got bag from Amazon and no gnats. Third time bought the 51qt bag from Ace Hardware. Filled two 3" pots and planted my germinated seeds. Twelve hrs later the yellow sticky traps were peppered with them. Few days later traps had to be replaced as they were black with the nasty little phques! The seedlings grew for about four days then damped down and remained the same size for about a week before finally starting to grow again. Hundreds of gnats all from about a quart of FFHF!

Anybody experienced this nightmare with Fox Farms? Really pisses me off!
 
soil will have fungus gnats, not always, it depends on where you get it usually, you can buy different soil and still have the same problem.
 
I never plant straight from a fresh bag. I order the next harvests' soil by half way through my current grow. All the soil is poured into a large planter, mixed with diatomaceous earth, and left out to dry for a couple months.
A fan across the top of your soil will greatly reduce or remove your gnats.
 
watering from the bottom and yellow sticky traps help also buy your soil indoors, diotamasceus earth on top of your soil can help a lot
 
I was going to use HF for this grow but recent amazon reviews were Bad for the gnats. A layer of perlite on top of the soil can help. I bought Stonington Blend soil, the stickies caught only 3 gnats from 4 pots/bags.
 
Crazy will eat anything, except bugs and cannabis. And I mean Anything. The number "2" candle on a plastic spike in a doggy cupcake = $1K at the ER vet. I'll do a tonsillectomy pulling stuff out of his gullet first. He destuffed a pug toy, was trying to swallow a mesh bag full of little white balls, I pulled it out of his throat but there were balls missing. Grumpy is a pretty normal pug, he has allergy, ear and anal gland issues, I'm playing vet for him right now but I can't express the internal glands by myself. I asked the vet if he could do his dog at home by himself, he thought for a minute and said No. I recently watched an older video of Grumpy happy and playing, made me sad. Waiting on money to get him a dental so his glands can get removed and ears/throat looked at, his jaws are Jed Clamper at the vet. The cat will chase and eat bugs but he likes to eat weed more than the bugs. Sometimes he just play with bugs, I'm the killer. And I hate bugs, I'd rather catch a mouse in a cigar box. If I ever run into a caterpillar or such in my plants I'll probably turn off the lights and let the plants die.
 
The first time Dabber had 'those' gland issues, I tried cleaning her with a washcloth. It only got worse. The vet clued me in that it wouldn't go away until I got her outside for a business trip. Now I know that if she toots or smells like 'that', she needs to go out. Of course, I always have to pack her doggie bag. HA! Get it?

As long as we're hijacking, this one started with externals expressed by the groomer but it stopped working, need to have the vet tech do internals. He acts like he's full 3 days after a vet visit, bouncing and whining. I just plan for 5-6 weeks, make the appt. Thankfully the smell is mild. He has small stool which doesn't help but pumpkin made them loose, not helpful. So much for free fungus gnats, lol.
 
Imagine a rotten sardine wrapped tennis ball. Then stop. It'll ruin your evening.
Vet wanted to show me how to do internals. I told her no because I don't want D to associate me with doing that.
My neighbor had a Jack Russel I would walk. Little tootsie rolls. I now take two bags.
But yeah, fungus gnats... I wonder how that's going. We gave good advice before the hijack.
 
Last time, promise. I was all set to do it myself but once I was in and felt them I wasn't sure what to do. Now that I know he climbs up my shoulder and down my back trying to get away. I tried Prep-H to help him fell less miserable. I even put some lidocaine in the P-H. I need a professional haircut, it's pandemic long, but the vet bills.
