hello my friends,
First time growing in coco loco. I have always used soil in the past but decided to try something new.
Any advice for growing in coco coco? Transplanted into 7 gal fabric pots 1 week ago. Watering very3rd day. No nutrients yet. Waint until week two.

I am a soil grower. I have never grown in just straight coco loco. I'm sure Nebula has advice with growing in just coco loco. That's a very fav of hers! I am a fan of coco loco mixed with Happy Frog 50/50 and about 10-20% course perlite added to the total. Many of the great growers here use coco coir and perlite mix. I just stay happy doing what I do.

Nice plants. Obviously, you are an experienced grower.

I grow in straight 50/50 coco/perlite, self made, reused for five grows and counting. (After harvest, dry pots, remove stems and roots, fluff up, reuse.) Also use 7 gallon fabric pots.

Coco Loco has been premixed with small amounts of fertilizer, less than 1% each of N, P, K. So, the first thing you need to get (quickly) is coco liquid nutrients, because your pots will run out of the pre-mixed fertilizer. I use GH Flor Trio, adding CaliMagic. Great results. Mix and follow per GWE's instructions.

Coco grows require a pH of +/- 6.0, a bit lower than full soil. You will need a pH pen to properly adjust the nutrient solution. pH down is necessary to adjust the nute solution.

I water my plants daily to run off (in a greenhouse, not tent.) Adjusting amount until each pot feels heavy. No. The plants are not overwatered. They grow well. In a coco medium it is almost impossible to overwater a mature plant.

I find coco to be an absolutely superior, trouble free growing medium. Hope this helps.
