So i was reading fox farm trio feeding chart and it says feed every other watering and then it says feed twice a week does anyone water there plants 3 times a week because i water my big ones 1 once a week if luck they are in 7 gallon smart pots my smaller ones i water alot more they dry out quicker? and suggestions or recommendations?

Hi 88. In my five gal. Smarty pots I feed 50% neuts.1 gal. on sunday , then 1.5 gal. of plain water on wed with about 1 quart of run off. ph in 6-6.5 out around 5.8. This seems to keep them happy.

hmm i wondering about upping my watering i think i watered them on Monday i'm not sure gotta look at the journal. got it k 2/24 watered FOG-medium and 4 seedlings next water is nutes, 2/25 watered Dr.purp next is nutes, 2/26 Chernobyl next is nutes, 2/27 FOG- Big next is nuts also watered FOG-small next water is ph so thats when i watered this time. FOG-m needs watered i just checked it and the smaller ones seem to be every two days to three CHER and FOG-Big are in 7gallon smart pots Dr. is 1-2 gallon normal pot going into 5 gallon smart pot this week, FOG-medium is in 2 gallon smart pot... Thoughts on my watering schedule

The plants to seem to hold a decent amount of water about a gallon! but the top does get dry for about an inch but its moist further down.

Hi Primo,
Just started my first grow in coco/perlite 70%/30%, in 5 gal Smart Pots, still just seedlings. What are you growing in and what stage for the feeding schedule you mentioned.
Thanks.

I think there might be a misunderstanding on the labels, I've stared at it before trying to make sense of it. If I remember correctly it says to use water only every 2 or 3 feedings( what they don't tell is that ff nutes have major salt build ups so flushing is vital) but when it's feeding time and if your plants need it you can feed them twice within a week period. You'll just need to adjust the flush accordingly. you know better how much fluid they need.

Hay ace I'm using ff trio and can't get it eather ? I always was told to let them dry out in between watering with fert. Or just ph water.and I do but if I follow f.f. Feeding chart thay will never dry out ! 50% use of nutes in water in f.f. Soil 5gal.smart pots lol

The first knuckle in the soil method is full proof. I only use my h2o reader to confirm what my finger told me. That's when I give what they need. Their needs change all the time. I like to flush no matter what every 3 or 4 times, phed water only. Emerald harvest all the way for nutes, calmag and stalk included(might back off those 2 for a while, I think I see signs of something building up and blocking the girls chi flow), full recommended doses for the rest. I test for ph after everything is added to the water. It takes me about 3 hours to water all my ladies, they like it slow...I test the run off ph also and the soil usually the morning after, the excess sauce is removed with the shop vac. Happy girls!

I use FFOF and FF trio but I don't start the nutrients until week 3 or 4. I figure soil has plenty for the first few weeks, then I add nutrients every other watering, however long that may be, but that's just me! Their chart shows starting nutrients on week 1. That sounds a little too much like marketing to me...
