Fabric Containers

I'm rethinking my grow for next season and foremost among those changes is moving
from 5 gallon plastic to 30 gallon fabric containers. I have had a little experience with
smaller bags and wasn't overly impressed with them but I kinda like the light color of
these ones for keeping soil temps down. My question to those of you that have used
them is; do you think that adding some 1/4 inch grommet eyelets to the bottom would
be of any benefit for better drainage? I use living soil for my grows and good drainage
is of paramount concern for me. My plan is to run 6 of these for my outdoor grow this
coming year. I'm hoping the increased volume of soil will help with nutrient depletion
I've been dealing with near the end of past grows. I will be making a raised trivet system
so I won't have to worry about standing water under them. Any ideas, suggestions, or
insight into my plan would be greatly appreciated.

Is the pic from Amazon? It looks exactly like the 20 gallon fabric pot I used this year. If so they’re well made and drain well as is. I had mine elevated on a cart so it wasn’t sitting on the ground

The orange bag - I got a lime green one on sale too - have discs here and there on the sides, plus some on the bottoms for stability, but these bags have the outside fabric plus a mesh liner. I don't know if the lining matters as to why they use them.

My experience with fabric pots has all been positive. They seem to drain quite well. If you are concerned, you could excavate about two or three inches under the pot and fill the space with small gravel.

fabric pots allow for better drainage and are best suited for outdoor grows. They are great for when you want to flush the plant. Don't bother with adding extra holes...you won't need them
