Extra HPS bulbs a good idea?

Do personal growers have extra grow bulbs (Just in case). I understand each bulb is good for around 3 cycles but can last a year as far as light goes. How do you dispose of old bulb?.

I try to keep a spare bulb but since I use hps and mh, I can just switch it out until the proper replacement is received.

Our local police are selling lot of 242- 600 watt HPS and MH lamps Solis tek brand. Thay are asking $4.00 a bulb my choice. I wonder where all those bulbs came from? YEA RIGHT,

I did not say I will buy. This add is in our local auction paper. I know the bulbs were taken in a raid. I just think it is funny how the police are getting revenue at some ones else's expense! (And doing it with a smile).
