Electro-therapy for plants?!!

Found this interesting link, not sure who posted it but I was wondering if any of you have applied this and if so, how? I'm running a hydro setup and I would love to try this out to see if maybe more trichs get made

I'm just not sure how to integrate it, I'm running dwc so, just drop a pos and neg into the water? Won't that short the water pump?
