Effects of lower humidity?

I am struggling to get my tent humidity up (40% tops), heaters tend to dry the air but Chicago weather is what it is.

Will lower humidity stunt growth? What problems can I expect?

Cannabis is grown in arid climates and lower humidity may just cause more transpiration, which is offset by increased watering.
The problem arises when that water has the same amount of nutrients and not reduced to compensate for the increased water volume.
The low humidity is your friend especially during flower and the only time high humidity is really important is during clone/seedling stage until they can feed from the roots.
Stunt growth is not likely, but there may be a delay, just as cooler temperatures delay seed germinating, etc.

Below 40% RH, I wouldn't worry about it. If you're flowering, that is actually good. My RH is around 25-35% all year long. I have a humidifier going damn near all day long. Even that don't raise it much. Like I said. Don't worry too much about it. Your plants won't.

I've read a couple times that lowering humidity during the last couple of weeks in flower will actually send the plant into a sort of defense mechanism to protect itself from drying out by producing more resin, making your buds more frosty.
