On the agenda this week, Perestroika!! So much changing around lol because you know, tiny grow space. Still haven't figured out how to wrap space and time for extra space. 😅🥼
2 days after a defoliation, we can see which are doing better than others.
2x3 Mandarin Zkittlez + UG. They are both loving life! The UG is huge, the Mandarin is sticking out the tent already They sure are loving the Earth Box nutrients. I was worried about the Mandarin in the beginning but man, some resilient genetics. Same can't be said for the Grape Balls of Fire.
2x4 Grape Balls of Fire + UG. The UG is loving life as expected. She's vibrant, strong, bushy and doing everything I love and expect from this cultivar. That's why I'm growing 2x ðŸ‘🔥ðŸ’
The Grape Balls of Fire didn't bounce back so quickly after the defoliation. I also noticed a few spotted leaves and just some odd colors towards the top. The rest looks super healthy. Only a few weird spots. She's the only one with red stems and growing a bit odd. Great feeder roots on her. I'm sure she'll be fine. Just different cultivar. Plus I regretfully tortured tf out of both seedlings carelessly.
I had to move the Lilac Diesel out of the tent .... It was just too big and it was going to mess up the next grow. She's on day 77 so it hopefully shouldn't be too much longer. She's in the ripening and filling out stages hopefully.
The Cross is looking nice for a 1 gallon test. Still smells super peppery IDK what that's all about. Hopefully I get more fruity soon.
Really disappointed with the nitrogen toxicity on the Lilac. I didn't know she was going to be so sensitive to it. The Sweet Zombie that I grew before this, she went hungry 🤷â€â™‚ï¸. There's just no universal recipe. Still fun to learn and I'm still going to go full scale with the Coco in the next earth boxes and see how it goes. It's going to be fun as always.

Also fed the worms the Acapulco Gold.... It wasn't worth smoking. I hope the worms get a buzz 🤣. Along with all the leaf trim. Gonna have some really good Vermicompost later with plenty nutrients..... That's probably where the extra nitrogen may have come from.....I drink A LOT of tea and they get a diet of tea leaves, bananas, lettuce, fruit, cardboard and grit. Maybe some expired flour but that's it. Probably a nitrogen -potassium heavy casting. Something to consider I suppose.

I did a defoliation today. They were stretching all crazy and I couldn't even see the side branching. Both UGs are looking fine. They're clones and growing very similarly. The Mandarin Zkittlez is a strong grower. The only one on the slow side is the Grape Balls of Fire. Not much side branching. She is stretching but being out grown by the UG. All 4 have noticable flower growth. It's been almost 21 days since I started to reduce the light.
I do have to say I'm excited about the UG. When I did the defoliation, I did a leaf rub and she's smelling like my last one. Not much on the Cherry side but fruit terps usually don't show up in leaf rubs especially this early into bloom. I am excited because she's got that really nice frankincense gassy smell that I absolutely LOVED in the last grow. Paired with the cherry, it was like an exotic ludens cherry cough drop. Very very excited about it.
The Cross is looking great too! Very peppery still but gaining some fruit smells off blackberry. She's about 3 weeks into the bloom. Very curious because keeping these clones from blooming, sucks. I have to keep them in my kitchen during the day and in the grow at night to get the minimum 16 hours. Hopefully the effort is worth it.
Soon I need to get those 4x FreakShow seeds planted and growing. I really need a dome of sorts to keep clones and cuttings of mothers. Would be easier to keep them in veg and move them around when needed.

Day 82 for the Lilac Diesel and I'm literally crying over here. The smell. Omgl the smell.... IDK what kinda sorcery this is but wow genetics are getting crazy.
It starts off as a sharp 🋠citrus smell. It can be describes as gassy, sharp or sour(like lemon not milk). It sweetens off to a really nice like lemon sour patch kid. All that already is amazing. It's the finish that gets me though. I love those exotic incense notes in my buds, so if you know what Nag Champa incense are then you'll know exactly what I'm talking. It's like eating a sour lemon hard candy(or soft) while in a lightly scented room of Nag Champa incense. DEAD ON.
She's also starting to look a bit better too as she swells up. I don't even care about the nitrogen toxicity she's just so crazy in the terpenes department and the trichomes are the size of sugar crystals. It's literally like touching candy.
I know I know. I keep repeating myself but like damn..... Those smells. That freaking Pound Town and the Hot Cakes.... Those 2 got me so hooked on amazing terpenes. Everytime I load my vape and take a hit and get that taste...I can just feel the ants crawl across my head. So full of flavor. Not for nothing, that Cannatrol is worth every penny. They got that cure down to a science. The bud comes out so amazing.

Here's a cropped version of the macro shot that I tried to take because GWE won't let me upload a picture that's 4080 x 8260 picture🤷â€â™‚ï¸. (Not to get off track but I don't understand why technology keeps coming out with like 200 megapixel cameras and like 8K resolution if you can't upload any of that file quality anywhere on the internet). I REALLY wanna take this macro photography seriously. I've always been interested in macro mushroom, plant and bug macros. Now with Cannabis legal(for the most part), I can practice using the buds I grow. Get some really nice shots of my buds and trichomes.
Took the photo(using pro mode on my phone) starting with the front in focus and finishing with the back in focus. I tossed the pictures into GIMP (picture editing software is the biggest hole in my knowledge). Lightroom looks easy..... But I don't want to pay a monthly subscription to use software like what the fuck ever happened with buying software and installing it and using it. What the fuck is with this stupid ass monthly payments to use software like what if I edit only one picture that month I still got to pay the whole fucking thing??? Company really just trying to take every single last penny that you have. That's why I don't use Adobe. I use dark room as my free version of Lightroom and GIMP for my free Photoshop.
The picture could have came out better if I had the top of the bud focused in at least one of the pictures but I never managed to get it to focus with the flimsy manual focus on the phones.
All that said.... For a 7 photo stack.... And my first-ish focus stacking picture.

I plan on taking some photos of the Hot Cakes too because those 2 were my favorites from the last grow.
This could be the start of something new. Already saving for a Sony A6100 mirrorless DSLR or Canon EOS R100 mirrorless. I'm leaning Sony only because I could literally snap on a lens from the 1950s and '60s onto this camera and it'll be fully functional. While the Canon Not all lenses are interchangeable.

I FINALLY took the picture the Hot Cakes by Going2fast deserved. I tried to crop it .. It wasn't enough and since it's a macro picture, I can't crop too much.

Sorry for the lack of updates. Life being life, but I've been super busy. The Lilac Diesel came down. She just got trimmed up a few days ago and now it's finishing up her 8 day dry/cure cycle in the Cannatrol. If the scissor hash is any indication 🤩🤩🤩. That hash was YUMMY!! So much gassy citrus and SOOO much of that Nag Champa incense taste. I'm loving it so much right now!! What I'm not loving is the yield. The nitrogen toxicity KILLED me. The buds are so airy. Everything Fox tailed. It's like 90% larf if I'm being 💯. It's not a total loss like the blue dream though!
It's frost, sticky AF....went through so many alcohol pads.... Smells great, tastes great and the high was fantastic. Everything about this plant is great except the yield which is all my fault. It all started when I supercropped her. Then, I top dressed with some dry amendments that also had nitrogen (crab meal, bat guano). Those 2 things seemed to push her over the edge. I'm LOVING the terpene profile. This might be on the regrow list. I love gassy fruit with a twist. Live for those terps and she delivers on all. SourðŸ‹ðŸ with an incense hit. Some might even say a ginger hit. The terps are wicked AF on this one. I'll have a smoke report soon.
The Cross. She's frosty AF. She's not going to be huge because of the 1 gallon pot but she's promising. Very peppery black berry. Def leaning more blue dream based on morphology. I might be growing her again full scale on the next grow. I'm excited.
The Grape Balls of Fire. She's putting on weight really fast. She's got those nicely domed flowers. You know she's going to be growing brains out of that. It's gonna be all bumpy and cool looking late in flower. She's smells like Concord grapes ðŸ‡. Over ripened grapes. She's praying almost non stop. She finally adjusted herself.
Her potmate the UGðŸ’. She's flowering nicely as expected. She's going to need a light defol so the light gets all the buds. She already smells of frankincense and mildly of cherry. On the DL, I think I over added some stuff to the soil... The balance seems off. Not by a lot but the other side is doing better. The color looks better as do the flowers.
Mandarin Zkittlez ðŸŠ. She's pretty big! She also needs a defol to expose the lower flowers. She's getting 6L every 2 days just like the other 2x plants. So far, not much on the smell department. She smells like weed yes. But nothing to specific. She's got so many bud sites though. Gonna be a healthy harvest.
Her potmate, the other UG 💠she's looking mighty healthy and happy. She's loving life even though she too needs a haircut. She's also smelling of frankincense but more fruity cherry terps. So excited about this one. She's a top 5 fave cultivar.
They are all blooming nicely. We're 21 days into bloom and things are going well. I also got a new camera, extension tubes and a macro rail for the camera. Soon I'm going to have some really awesome shots. I decided it was finally time. I gave myself 2 years doing the time lapse and other photographic work and I REALLY enjoy it. I want to get an actual camera and move away from the cell phone camera. Just because this Samsung S23 ultra has a 200mp camera... Doesn't mean it's good. It's not even the gear that's the issue, it's the editing software. SOOOOO OVERWHELMING so much learning to do. I'm trying to learn on GIMP and Darktable (though tbh, IDK if I'm going to be shooting in RAW. Color correcting SUCKS because I'm color blind. I might just stick to editing jpegs. One thing at a time. This photography rabbit hole is DEEP
AC INFINITY sent me 2x new fans because they're doing a replacement of the Gen 1 fans for Gen2 fans for free. I filled out the application and in 18 hours, they had already shipped out the fans. I'm impressed with their service. Kudos 👀 I'm watching.
Spider Farmer also sent me an updated 2024 version of the SF 2000 light for my tent. I had to do a little back and forth with them for a few months but they finally sent me a light.

After a 12 day dry and cure, the final weigh in was 96g. Not a bad number but I can only imagine what it could have been sans the nitrogen toxicity...... Or it would have also been 100 g like it was this time but instead of really larfy and airy looking buds, It would have been nice dense colas. Because 100 g or 96 g isn't a bad amount from a 7 gallon pot for an auto flower. It's like the minimal acceptable amount anything below 90 g is getting into not so great territory. But that's just my opinion and how I view my growing.
I tossed some in my vape and IDK man. This might just be a new favorite. Those incense terpenes are wild! It legit taste and smells like Nag Champa incense or maybe frankincense. It's definitely got this perfumey kind of quality to it. It's also gassy and lemony but that's how they rank It starts with the incense then the gas and finally the hint of lemon. It's basically like perfumy gas. Really awesome taste. Amazing effects. I'm going to try to take some trichome pictures because the trichomes on this are milky like milk colored milky. I don't think I've ever seen them like this before any of my plants. But then again most of my plants don't have trichomes the size of sugar crystals. They just have normal trichomes 😅
You know she didn't look pretty but she's a winner. Loving the taste loving the high. And it's only going to get better as it cures longer.
For example the pound town from Humboldt. It's been about a month and a half and that stuff is absolute fire 🔥🔥. The Candy terps are just crazy how do they get it tasting like apple melon candy?? Cannabis really is the most unique plant on this planet. It could taste like apples it could taste like oranges It could taste like grapes It could taste like a skunk's ass.... It could taste like freaking vanilla. Vanilla! You know how few plants actually have vanilla? Such an amazing plant I'm sure there's still much more to be discovered about it that we've only suppressed over the years. Like the tests that Dr Bruce bugbee did and they found out that the plants could go up to a 100 DLI a day without virtually any ill effects. We know that it's a heavy metal remediator. If you got heavy metals in your soil you could plant a bunch of weed plants or preferably at that point hemp have it suck up all the heavy metals and all the crap out of your soil toss it out and then you have clean soil to be able to grow actual medicinal plants or vegetables. So much great stuff to talk about when it comes to cannabis I could go on for days.

The girls are all looking lovely. The girls in my living soil blend have much bigger and thicker flowers even though the GBoF has a bit of a deficiency going on. It doesn't seem to be stopping them.
The girls in the Earth box brand nutrients are looking greener and "healthier" but the buds, even though there's much more, are smaller in size compared to the living soil buds. We're only 25 days into bloom so everything can change. I added some recharge into their water today and top dressed then with the NLS Flower Power. Should be smooth sailing from here on out.

💨💨😤💨💨 Smoke Report
For Battle of The Breeders -Lilac Diesel Auto by Ethos Genetics. (86 days total grow)
Got 96g of bud which isn't too bad. It's been 21 days since I chopped her and I've been enjoying her already so time for a report on this lovely gem.
She was dealing with nitrogen toxicity most of her flowering. It seems to have been triggered by the super cropping of the main stalk. Soon after that I started noticing all the leaves above the break were growing only 3 pointed leaves and they were dark green. I tried flushing some out but it didn't do much good. About 90% of the bud is larfy. It's not dense and it's got zero bag appeal.
That's about where the negatives end. The rest are all glowing positives. First, the smell 👃. She smells like sour lemon candy with a gassy funk. The sour lemon are very sharp on the nose and they're finished with a fragrant incense smell of frankincense or nag champa. I'm finding this incensey type gas common across Ethos cultivars. It's this incensey gassy kind of smell/taste on the UG that got me so obsessed with it and the Lilac Diesel has a similar type of gas. Very big fan. IDK exactly what it is about it about that flavor makes my head buzz with ants. I get so excited when I taste it.
The Taste 👅. Like it smells. That gassy incense taste is the first thing you get. After you get the lemony, earthy sugary taste. So full of flavor. With trichomes as big as sugar crystals, each puff is so full of all these delicious exotic flavors.
The Effects. Superb. It's a good semi clear headed high. It's not a couch locker but it def does give you the fuzzy visual distortion but without major munchies. It's clear headed enough to where you can still do complex tasks like playing an instrument or garden work.
So far everything I've grown from Ethos has been a winner. Super excited to grow more of their genetics in the future but I need to experiment with others. Humboldt Seed Co really impressed me with that Pound Town Auto. I need some solid blue dream genetics (Humboldt)and wedding cake (Barney's farm) genetics. Of course, the 2 I wanted to order are sold out. Maybe they'll have them by Christmas. This way I can do Acai Freak (if I have a female), my cross (BD x MAC1), blue dream and wedding cake. If not then I'll grow, sour orange by super natural seeds and grape stomper x something else by Purple Caper seeds. Just to mix it up and not just grow all Ethos Genetics 😅
Before I get more side tracked, OVERALL, she may not be a looker but, the taste and the high make up for it. I don't sell any of this stuff so 🤷â€â™‚ï¸ it's all for me to smoke. I'm a big fan of the terpene profile. I will CERTAINLY pick up seeds of this cultivar in the near future. Gotta grow her proper. I may even get the auto and the photo versions to see if I like one over the other.
This next all Ethos grow is shaping up to be one of my best and I'm only a month into the grow. The terpenes are already crazy. If you bump any of them it's like a fruit bouquet. At least the next ones will be lookers too, unlike the Lilac Diesel 🤞
For Battle of The Breeders -Lilac Diesel Auto by Ethos Genetics. (86 days total grow)
Got 96g of bud which isn't too bad. It's been 21 days since I chopped her and I've been enjoying her already so time for a report on this lovely gem.
She was dealing with nitrogen toxicity most of her flowering. It seems to have been triggered by the super cropping of the main stalk. Soon after that I started noticing all the leaves above the break were growing only 3 pointed leaves and they were dark green. I tried flushing some out but it didn't do much good. About 90% of the bud is larfy. It's not dense and it's got zero bag appeal.
That's about where the negatives end. The rest are all glowing positives. First, the smell 👃. She smells like sour lemon candy with a gassy funk. The sour lemon are very sharp on the nose and they're finished with a fragrant incense smell of frankincense or nag champa. I'm finding this incensey type gas common across Ethos cultivars.
