Hi I have been reading a lot lately and I am happy that I have found an old article about organic hydroponics. The technique consists In using organic soil in the top part of the growing pot that will be separated by rockwool that act as a medium divider between the top organic soil and the bottom coco coir. The article says that with this technique two type of roots will be created the top one is mainly the feeding type and the bottom root system would be for water intake. The plants are poted in a flood table the flood table provide only plain water through the bottom of the pot. When feeding is needed it's done trought the organic soil with less water. So I'm gonna stop there and share the link of the article if you are curious.

And if someone reads the article I'm wondering if we could apply this method to dwc with aired pot .

Thanks

Sounds similar to hempy buckets with the bottom feeding. Google hempy bucket and check it out.

Theres another crazy style from dude grows show called cap'n style which involves rock wool croutons.

Very cool stuff. I love when innovation and creativity meet. It's beautiful!

Hi GreenSpirit

You really don't need all of that...it's like sitting on the fence instead of jumping in to Deep Water Culture. I love dwc but I see great results with dirt but I also see so many steps in dirt that dwc doesn't have.

Make it as simple and inexpensive as possible is the rule to go by.

Agree. I started with dwc and have yet to do soil but plan on it eventually. Right now it's just easier for me to do dwc though i felt a little out of my element when i started.

It is very similar . Anyway with all I read so far I think coco is the way to go. I am in an appartement and power goes out to often when it's raining or snowing hard. I was just curious if organic dwc was possible but also simple .
