Dr. Meter LX1330 vs. LX1332?

I read GWE’s article on light and saw the link to the LX1330 lux meter. When I went to buy it I saw the “LED” version, the 1332. That should be arriving tomorrow and I look forward to testing it with my SF4000.

Every video on YouTube only shows the Amogee PAR meter readings for my light. I did see one guy come up with a formula for comparing the numbers between an Amogee PAR meter and a Dr. Meter’s lux meter. He was using a bunch of different kinds of lights, not mine though. The formula was a number like 0.13 multipled by the lux reading to get a close to PAR equivalent.

So when I get my meter I’m going to find the formula do some readings and see if they using the formula match the numbers I heard JustiTime on YouTube call out when treating his SF4000.

Just got my LX1332B lux meter. It was late so I just took some quick readings at the top of the canopy. I have four 16” Hydrofarm saucers up against each other with the four 7 gallon pots centered in each. So again, roughly, thats a 32”x32” square area. The reading at roughly 30”@70%dim above the canopy, at center of the light, is about 155 (x100) or 15,500. The outer edges of the canopy were about 139 (x100) or 13,900.
Taking a look at the info blow means I need to crank it up. I’ve read the SF4000 need to be hung high and currently its about 5-1/2’ from the floor.

a good amount of light for healthy vegetative growth

45,000 – 70,000 lux
the optimal amount of light for cannabis plants in the flowering (budding) stage. If grow lights produce a lot of UV light (such as LEC), stay on the lower side of this range

70,000 – 85,000 lux
a lot of light, some strains thrive at this light level, but some plants (especially auto-flowering and Indica strains) lose their top leaves early under this light intensity. At these levels, lights need to be kept further away for healthy growth

at this light intensity, you’ve hit the plant’s “saturation point” which means your plant can’t use all the light (most strains will experience light bleaching or other major signs of stress at this level!)
