HELP! Do you still need to pull tarp for light dep - beginner

We are doing 12/12 pulling covers at 7p. I am being told that covers dont need to be pulled anymore as the days are shorter and pulling covers will not change the harvest time. Can some please confirm.

As long as they are getting 12 Solid Dark ours in the new time zone and there is no outside interference light ( ie street lights, house lights, car lights , )

Is it dark from 7p to 7a? If yes then I guess you’re good, if not then you still have to cover.
