Do my girls look healthy? 3rd week flower

Amen brother! Every time be thought about trying a hydro setup I read a article on root rot or ph fluctuations or some other article on it and I’m like, nah soil is easy lol

Totally agreed soil is so easy for me now, it’s hard to switch and start a new learning experience for example.:)
But I’m a little jealous over how fast alltatup ‘s plants are growing because of the hydro.
But (nr2-but) as you say, all these Ph fluctuations would get on my nerves with my PTSD brain 😅
 
CaptainWiese91 bboyfromwayback I don't think there are more problems with one way or the other (soil vs hydro) and it seems like nutrient lockout is a seriously frequent problem for soil growers. I'd even hazard a guess and say it's the number 1 HELP thing that newbies write in about.

I don't chase my pH: I check it once a day and I never ever have to add up or down every day. I like the clean and the cool of hydro. Hella trichomes...

But yea I agree lockout is a good starter problem for many in here..
To be honest I never check the soil PH is my plants aren’t showing me something. Only Ph my water actually☺️
 
The faster growth and extra frosty tops has always made me want to try hydro, I’ve just never pulled the trigger. I even made a DWC bucket but I’ve never tried it out. Maybe I’m lazy or just too comfortable with my setup.
 
bboyfromwayback I feel the same way. But I spent the summer apprenticing a friend who was learning to grow indoors in soil, and there were various things I really liked about the soil grow: each plant could be moved in its own grow bag and pruned and examined under natural light. Of course I can't take my girls out of the grow box. Soil definitely seems more "natural" and so I may just try it some day inside my grow box: remove the reservoir and just put 4 3-gallon grow bags in each box. That way I could raise and lower the bags under my fixed LED Cobs, take each one out and train and prune... sounds good, huh!!! Damn, now I wanna switch to soil!!!!

CaptainWiese91 and that's exactly how it should be: if the growth is lush and healthy, you know you're doing it right!!!
 
This is an advantage for sure with soil, agree on that alltatup.
My pots is 30 L and I always start in the final pot. Think 30 L liter is around 7,2 Gallon. They can be very heavy when I need to do training or take them out of the tent 😆.
It seems like its a 50/50 on the soil and hydro. Some issues with soil you don’t have in hydro and the other way around.

I never tried smoking a “hydro” bud🤔. Maybe in Holland in coffee shops. But there seems to be a lot of debate on the taste from soil and the taste from hydro ? Or is people just making that up ?
 
CaptainWiese91 My weed buddy says there no comparison between the taste of hydro bud vs soil bud: hydro tastes much better according to him. I wonder if it's any different if soil is properly flushed before harvest: the weed he has to buy around here when I run out is absolute shit: harvested early, quick dried, over dried, no cure.

Well I read an article from a lab. With 14 days flush, 7 days flush and no flush.
The lab test showed there were not more “nutrients” in the non flushed as in 14 days of flush.
I thinks it’s a fairy tale about the flush.
The whole taste is lying in the cure process in my opinion. I never flush my plants, yea I give them plain water the last 8-12 days. But it’s not a flush. I’m only flushing if I have a serious problem in the root zone.

Dried to quickly on the rack is a big problem about the chlorophyll- and I think this is why some buds taste harsh.
Nothing with the “last flush” to do. :)
 
CaptainWiese91 The controversy continues.... Some people, including Nebula, insist that the flush makes a very significant difference; other data, such as your lab info, say different. Can I have the link to the lab report, please?
 
I read here on the Forum actually. I will try to find the thread again 👍🏻
My personal opinion is it’s doesn’t matter. But again this is why maybe we have the forum - it’s a good subject to discuss, but maybe hard to find the “real answer”
 
I’m finishing up a grow now. I have two Blue Cheese that I was gona give a light dose of nutes next watering then switch to water and molasses till harvest. I’ll be the test dummy on the flush or no flush subject lol
