I'm a legal patient in Michigan but I understand your concern, especially considering the recent election. I think you're completely safe, just don't reveal too much personal info and don't post pictures of yourself or family.

I am a frequent poster from a state where growing in not legal. I don't fret over it. With such a small setup, I figure they'd just confiscate our stuff. Having said that, my husband is much more paranoid than I am. He acts like we are under some sort of covert surveillance. He knows I participate in this discussion forum and has never mentioned the IP address issue. There are programs out there to mask your real IP address if really paranoid.

I agree with the others that it's pretty safe to post if you avoid giving any identifying information (your name, pictures of you, etc). Most law enforcement officials aren't digging into weed websites to see if they can find someone in their town, because there's just too many out there to go through, with so little to go by.
When it comes to growing, the rules that prevents you from being found out 99% of the time is "Don't sell, don't tell, don't smell." The idea is that most people either get caught because they told someone who told the wrong person, whether they were selling or just telling a friend. The other main reason is their garden stinks and a neighbor calls the cops. If you don't tell anyone, and control your smells, you really lower your risk a lot. That being said, the "No tell" one is the hardest part for me. I haven't told anyone in real life that I grow, and it's frustrating because I want to show off my plants or tell them they're smoking buds that I grew! I'm lucky to live in California, but until it's legalized federally I don't want to bring attention to myself

- Proxy: Many websites track your computer information and where you are. Proxies trick those websites into thinking you’re in a different place. Here are a couple of free sites to try: http://www.vpnbook.com/webproxy, https://best-vpn.top10rated.me/proxy/.
- Anonymous Search: I love Google and use it often, however, they do track information about searches. Google is still safe to use for normal use, but for things pertaining to cannabis, try a search engine that doesn’t track information, like https://duckduckgo.com/.
- Exif data: Exif data is a little chunk of information that comes attached to pretty much any picture you take nowadays. This can be dangerous if the picture is taken on a device with GPS(such as a smart phone), because the data will also include the location where the picture was taken! I pay for a VPN service. My internet usage cannot be traced and no logs are kept of my browsing. Besides that I do not use my real name or mention where I am from.
What I am doing is not legal where I am. I doubt very much anyone cares about my internet use but better safe than sorry. As far as the community here goes, I think it's safe place to be.
