Determining the sex of plants

High!, I'm very new to growing, I'm growing from bag seed, so obviously I need to sex the plants, it's been 7 weeks since they germinated, and I'm still not seeing any Preflowers.
my question is, can I switch to a 12/12 light cycle to promote ? Pics to follow when I figure how to

a lot of trouble just to determine sex. Why don't you let them grow a bit longer. there really is no danger in doing that. cannabis does not suffer from premature ejaculation. be sure, and check NebulaHaze 's pics closely. the beginnings of preflowers are very small.

You can flip, but this will add sone time to your flower cycle. If you wait for pre-flowers, you will see buds a few weeks earlier than if you don’t wait.
if you just want to determine the sex, I would cut a few clones and flip the clones instead. That way you don’t lose time in the re-veg on the mothers.

I attached some pics of plants showing sex at 4 weeks without switching to 12 12 all males here
