dehumidifier questions

this all may sound dumb but im new and struggling.

ive annexed my back bedroom for growing (I blocked the heater for this room) .. I have a 5x5 grow tent.

I use a 6in inline intake and exhaust fan that continually runs. I also have a 4in intake and exhaust system that is on a temp sensor to kick in if it gets too hot.

I pump all my fresh air in from the window and exhaust it from the window as well (I made sure there is enough space so the intake isn't pulling in the exhaust.)

my dehumidifier is inside the tent free standing.

ive had humidity issues since day 1.. when the lights are on, everything is perfect! 78f and 40% humidity.

when the lights go off the issues begin.. currently the dehumidifier is working to keep the humidity below 45% but the air exhausting from it is hot and causes the room to get to 81F and the sensor to go off to pull in more air. ideally my night time climate is 40% humidity and 70F

should I build an exhaust system for the dehumidifier so the air exhausts out of the tent?

First off, 81 is not too hot. Also if you're still in veg you can have your humidity up to 60-65 without any issues with lights off. Come flower you'll want it 55 or lower. So if you're only issue is temps reaching 81, I wouldn't worry unless gets above 85 or so.

I should of mentioned that im in flower and already lost 2 plants to white mold. which is why im so frantic about the humidity... I just seem to be at the mercy of the weather outdoors... if its raining and super humid out... im battling humidity... currently is 68 and sunny, perfect temp and humidity in the tent.

Hi bro90, What size is the dehumidifier? I have a 55-pint Frigidaire that I keep in the doorway of my grow room so the hot air exhausts out of the room. When it's humid where I live, I empty the reservoir in less than 24 hours. Anything smaller just won't work for a normal sized grow room.

Look into an ac infinity cloudline exhaust fan.... it monitors heat and humidity. 6 inch model is like 150 on amazon

I actually have 2 of those systems in my room... a 6 in intake/exhuast system as my constant air exchanger and a 4in system that is set to com eon when temps are too high. my main issue is the massive humidity changes that happen daily where I live

its 20 liters.. I get about 2 days out of it depending on outdoor conditions.

I think the route im going to go is a free standing ac unit in the grow tent its self... so the dehumidified air is also cool

In my little cabinet when the temp is low ( at night ) or winter in my area, I can just exhaust the humid grow space because I’m replacing the air with much lower humid air.

sounds like you live a more humid place.
